Asking for help IDing uniform or soldier records.
Ie rank, time period, etc.
His name was Frederick Sommer, catholic, soldier. His daughter came over with this picture in 1887/88 about 19yo, and I know she has a sister. Birth dates are 1869 and 1871 of these daughters.
His wife was named Fredericke Freida Eva Adler. I don’t believe either of them left Germany.
Are other subs or databases better for asking help concerning military service dates etc?
I took the car to the dealer last year bc I felt the synchros bumping on third gear when downshifting and having the clutch totally out.
They claimed to notice nothing.
Now, just yesterday, it shifts smoothly on easy driving. But if I gun it, say 1st or 20mph, 2nd to 40mph, putting it into 3rd with the clutch pedal to the metal, it grinds the gear.
I assume this is the infamous synchro issue rearing?
I assume if this stays the case, the dealer can’t pretend the transmission is just fine?
[EDIT] - 2023 with 18k, 2nd owner, got Jan 2025 with 2k and the gears were a little stiff then but trouble going into 1st upshift occasionally and a lot considering to 3rd around 20-40 mph so I took to dealer last fall. Claimed they could feel it when it was always happening.
