Internet is down, router and modem working fine

My internet has been down for 8 hours now, my modem and Wifi router work fine. It was working fine yesterday and now it's down. Xfinitys chatbot is telling me they want to charge me money to send out a tech? You guys wanna charge me 100$ to solve your own problem?

Edit: ok I'm more calm I'm just extremely salty about the idea of being sent out a professional install and charged 100$ when the modem and router has been working for months.

Here's more info:

Modem has been searching downstream for hours now.

"Cable Diagnostic

Status: Bad

Action:

[CM Status]

  1. If you still see this message after 5 minutes, make sure coaxial cable is tightly connected.
  2. Inspect the splitter. Remove any unnecessary splitter or replace it with a new one.
  3. Use a different coaxial cable if available and connect directly without the splitter. Also, check if service is on this line.
  4. If you still can't resolve the problem, contact your service provider for troubleshooting help.

CM Status: Bad

Cable modem is scanning downstream. For this first time boot up, it might take a few minutes to scan all downstream frequencies.

Downstream Status: Bad

Downstream Power Level: Bad

Downstream power is poor (0.0dBmV). The recommended level is between -10dBmV to 10dBmV."

Both modem and router have been power cycled, it stays searching for the downstream for hours. Coax cables are all tight and connected, even unplugged the coax to the modem and plugged it back in.

Recieved a text back saying Xfinity didn't find an outage associated with my service.

Android Firefox external download manager does not handle images? How to fix this?

I downloaded ADM to use as an external download manager because Firefox Android does not let me select a download location. A basic feature. ADM will grab a .PDF and send it to the proper folder location, but for a .PNG the horrid Firefox manager seems to grab it and send it to the downloads folder. How do I fix this? I don't want to jailbreak my android for something so damn basic and I'd like to avoid switching browsers.

Trying to find a job that doesn't set me on fire, anyone had any luck?

I hit critical physical/mental burnout from my previous job and requested a leave of absense, and while that LoA is up no one has contacted me. I think I need to find another job but I want to look into a career that's actually sustainable. With MCAS I feel like a lot of the easier to get jobs are all pretty triggering for symptoms.

Basically I'm looking for part time, 2 days a week, WFH with a lot of silence. 8 1/2 hour days.

If anyone has/knows a job set up like this, or is working a job at all that's not constantly triggering them, please drop a comment.

Does anyone know why famotidine helps with neurological symptoms?

See title. I've seen some people with MCAS, along with people with PMDD, react well to citirizine + famotidine combos for decreasing the cognitive symptoms, and I was wondering if anyone here had any resources/papers on why it seems to help? H2s are stomach acid producing so I don't fully understand the neurological link and I'd like to better.

For me, I notice that famotidine seems to help me "feel" my warm emotions and take in detail easier, but it also seems to trigger acid reflux, food sensitizing, and over production if stomach acid. For me, I don't think famotidine is safe for longer than two days, but also famotidine is the only thing I've seen give me those effects. I want to try other H2s, but I'm curious as to the mechanics of why famotidine even helps me as all. If you had a similar experience, what worked for you?

Edit: Found this thread on r/anhedonia that has many many research articles and links to explore, for anyone also dealing with this:

https://reddit.com/r/anhedonia/comments/1n090gt/cured_my_anhedonia_with_pepcid_famotidine/

Edit 2: I had a misconception around H2 and thought they were only in the stomach, but by the Wikipedia article on H2 they're all over, including your brain! Thank you u/forwardishdirection for the clarification.

Has anyone experienced any success with the cromolyn eye drops outside of specific eye symptoms?

My doctor perscribed me cromolyn eye drops to try. Nasalcrom has been doing pretty good for me so far, but I've heard cromolyn eyedrops really only help eye symptoms (which I don't have any).

I'm taking the nasalcrom mostly to see if it helps with neuro MCAS symptoms (brain fog, emotional numbness, fatigue). It seems to be helping a little bit broadly, but the biggest help seems to be that now I can breath through my damn nose.

I was excited bc the eyedrops are a higher dose but it seems like it may be useless for me haha. I also saw mentioned that cromolyn behaves like luteolin, which I've reacted really poorly to- anyone do ok with cromolyn but poorly with luteolin?
