Crisp, new and most importantly physical

Pretty stupid issue. But nonetheless an issue. I have a 2019 wrx base and the side mirror module cap cracked. I see that is a common issue.

I bought a replacement module (I really just want/need a cap but they don’t sell it that way and you have to buy the whole module)

I tried to remove the cap from the module but inside the cap is completely different. Has anyone ever replaced their cap? Any advice?
