How do you describe your job to non-construction people?

Whenever I tell someone I work in CM/PM they automatically assume I am some sort of foreman or someone who performs the actual work, when I tell them 90% of my day is spent on excel, they just get confused. Is this a situation anyone on here has run into? How do you explain what your job is to people who don’t know anything about the industry?

Masters in construction?

For CM related job listings, I have seen a strange uptick in companies wanting a Masters in CM for all types of roles, even 'entry level' ones like project engineer. Does anyone here even have a masters in CM? And does anyone know why so many listings are asking for one? It seems ridiculous to me, because who the hell would get a masters in CM? Are employers just being ridiculous or is the job market getting that much more competitive? Has anyone else noticed this? I'm in CA Norcal/Bay Area for reference, which I know is more competitive than other job markets but I'm still a bit taken aback by such listings.
