Experience with cataract surgery?

My dog Nacho is a senior chihuahua. I’m not sure his exact age because I adopted him as a senior, but he’s probably 14-15. He’s had mild cataracts in one eye for a while, but in the past few months has gone completely blind from cataracts. His regular vet did bloodwork and an eye exam, his bloodwork all looks good (no diabetes) and he doesn’t have any signs of neurological issues causing the cataracts.

I’m considering cataract surgery for him, we are seeing an optometrist today. Money is not an issue, but I’m weighing the pros and cons. He is quite old so anesthesia makes me nervous, but he’s very healthy for his age and doesn’t have any other major issues. I can also tell his quality of life has decreased since he stopped being able to see. He gets nervous when he doesn’t know where I am, and he can’t do his favorite hobbies anymore (barking at squirrels and looking out the window).

I’m curious to hear from other senior dog owners who went through with the surgery. Do you think it was worth it? Did you have any complications? Any info is helpful. Thank you!

Recommend over fitbod?

I’ve been using fitbod to strength train for about 5 months now (U/L split 2x a week each) and im looking into joining ladder specifically team Era. I’m wondering if it makes sense to switch? Has anyone done this switch and had a good experience? I mostly program my own workouts into fitbod and do a lot of dumbbells, machines and cables. I’ve seen good results and I’m getting stronger but I like the interactive aspect of ladder. Curious about others experiences!

Edit: thank you all for the advice! I decided to switch and joined team Ascend! Did the welcome workout and it was great, excited to dive in!

Where are my Otto’s?

I’ve had 6 otos in my 20 gallon for like 2-3 weeks. I used to see up to 5 at once, now I only see 2. The ones I do see have big round bellies, are grazing and I’ve been supplementing their food. I’m keeping up with water changes and my parameters are good. I know they’re super sensitive, do they typically hide or is it possible some have died? Is it normal not to see them? My tank is heavily planted with lots of hiding spots.
