IRBs are a joke and why people hate doing research

I fully understand that there needs to be some way of ensuring research ethics. I'm not arguing against that. At the same time though, IRBs are where research goes to die and in their current form they do more harm than good, especially for grad students who are required to submit to the IRB as part of their thesis.

4 to 6 weeks minimum (more if they're busy) for an initial review of a minimal risk study (no greater than everyday life) is completely unacceptable. Even more unacceptable is that their studies require the consent forms for those minimal risk studies to be 3 pages long single spaced and they automatically reject all first submissions (but make you wait 4 to 6 weeks for that rejection).

What flavor of SSD goes in this slot in this Precision 3541

I work at a small nonprofit and I just inherited this Precision 3541. We had two of them donated years ago, long before the current ED and I were hired. The other one someone had decided to share their coffee with at some point so the motherboard was super corroded. I was able to salvage the ram and blade SSD from that other one though so, ram wise, this one is now pretty beefy.

I salvaged the PCIe blade SSD from the other Precision as well, and even if that one was shorter, the pins and notch don't line up with this slot so it's not that. I'm assuming M.2 SATA?

I would just like to have more than 256gb of storage on this one. I'm running Fedora on it, and that runs actually really well (much better than Windows 11). I also am the tech person somehow, but I've only owned Macs for the past decade so I have no clue what I'm even looking for with this SSD. It looked like there was also a bay for a 2.5" SSD as well, but I'd rather go with this slot if possible so I don't have to track down the cable for the 2.5" bay.
