Feeling guilty about accepting a new job offer [ca]

I've worked for a sole practitioner lawyer for the past 5 years. He advised me he plans to retire next year and wanted to give me the opportunity to take my time and find a new job.

Well, a new opportunity presented itself immediately. I interviewed this morning, went to lunch with a girlfriend, took a pregnancy test for fun, it was positive. Checked my email and I was offered the job.

Now I feel guilty about starting and then going on maternity leave at the busiest time of the season. I will also be taking 18 months this time around.

This is a longstanding law firm with multiple lawyers and could be the place I retire. I'm looking for longevity and stability, which they offer.

Tell me accepting this job is a good idea.

LRT Line 1: Can I stay on at Bayview and ride back to Bowesville?

I'm taking my toddler for an O-train ride! Our plan is to get on at Bowesville, take it to Bayview, and then back to Bowesville. Long ago, when I went to Carleton, when the O-train reached the end of it's destination, it waited a few minutes and then went the opposite direction along the same track. Does it still do that, or do I have to get off at Bayview and cross the platform?

Advice on getting my 2 year old new glasses [Canada]

My 2 year old has been prescribed glasses. The optometrist says to wear them for 6 weeks and then come back for a follow up to see if they have corrected a wandering eye.

I'm not sure if this is the same everywhere. In Canada, the optometrist will freely give you the prescription for lenses. That way, you can go to any store to buy frames and prescription lenses. I use an online store for my glasses and can get a pair for less than $50.

However, they do not give you the Pupillary Distance (PD). You have to go to a store to have it measured by a professional. When I order my glasses online, I use the website's tool to measure my PD.

Are there any lawyers or law clerks/legal assistants willing to walk me through the process? I have a case I am following out of interest (in Kingston) and I'm just not sure of the process and where the case stands.

I have access to Justice Services online portal and I'm able to monitor when the individual's next court appearance will be and the appearance type, but I'm not sure what it means.

In my professional capacity, I'm a real estate law clerk in Ontario. I'd be happy to exchange information, especially if you have questions about the process as a first-time homebuyer.
