Linkin Park soundcheck

Anyone lucky enough to get in the arena at doors when LP's crew were still sound checking?

It sounded bloody fantastic walking into the arena with the PA on full blast and the crew running through tracks.

Whoever was doing Mikes vocals sounded amazing 🤩

🇬🇧 All British Headliners 🇬🇧

I'm surprised we've never had a weekend where all the headliners are British.

They missed a good opportunity 10 years ago when Maiden and Sabbath headlined 2 nights. They should have taken a chance on Bring Me instead of Rammstein.

I think we've got another headline left out of Maiden before they decide to knock touring on the head so maybe we could have....

FRI - Architects

SAT - Iron Maiden

SUN - Malevolence

Any other suggestions? 😀

Red Arrows ⏪⏩⏪⏩

What a brilliant surprise that was! I think I spotted 4 separate appearances.

I know previously the team will fly over festivals/events unannounced with smoke on if near their transit route. It was probably just a coincidence they were close because of the Kings celebrations and maybe used Midlands airport as a base? I doubt Live Nation actually put their hand in their pocket and paid for it.

Hardest working band/artists in Metalcore?

Who do you guys think are the biggest grafters in the scene. I appreciate that most bands generally have to follow an album cycle routine and are on the road a lot, but some bands seem to be never off tour with releases.

Here in the UK we sometimes get bands that can do 3 separate trips here within a year, like a headline tour at the start of the year, summer festival + couple subsiding shows, then back in the winter as Support to another band.

Boundaries seem to have a strict 2 year release schedule for their albums followed by relentless touring.

I've watched thrown in the same venue go from bottom of bill on their debut visit to the UK, then second band on another tour, and then they returned to headline with an album release. All under 2 years.

Counterparts are another band always on the road and surprise dropping releases.

I don't know how they manage it 🤯

Band Merch...

Has anyone got a budget for band merch this year? I've never bothered that much in the past. I only really buy venue exclusive shirts/merch and can see a few of the newer bands doing exclusives like unpeople, silly goose, native James, and then there's Linkin Park who will probably have 12 Donington exclusives.

Then there's Limp Bizkit who probably won't bring anything 😄

But to answer my own question £210 will get you 5 x tshirts and 1 x hoodie
