Your roster is amazing

As a Toronto resident and Tempo fan, I still cant help but love Mystics. Your “Young Hoes” are absolutely so exciting to watch. The amount of great vibes and potential on this team is gobsmacking. I would happily trade everyone on Tempo for this roster.

Hope springs eternal for all of you!

Lake Wilcox Skatepark has a serious e-scooter/e-bike problem. Here's what residents can do.

Lake Wilcox Skatepark has a serious e-scooter/e-bike problem. Here's what residents can do.

If you use Lake Wilcox Park, particularly in the evenings, you may have noticed the growing problem at the skatepark.

Groups of boys are increasingly arriving on high-powered e-scooters, e-bikes and even electric dirt bikes and riding them throughout the skatepark, often at high speeds around skateboarders, BMX riders and younger children.

These motorized vehicles are not permitted in Richmond Hill parks.

This has become especially bad in the evenings. I've spoken to riders myself, but this shouldn't depend on individual residents confronting groups of teenagers. We need enough people reporting it that the City recognizes this as a recurring safety and enforcement problem.

If you see it happening:

  1. Don't put yourself in danger or get into an escalating confrontation. If you feel comfortable, calmly tell the riders that motorized vehicles aren't permitted in the park.
  2. Report it while it's happening. Lake Wilcox has an on-site Community Standards Officer. Look for the contact number posted on the park information boards and save it in your phone.
  3. For an after-hours public-safety by-law issue, call Richmond Hill Community Standards at 905-771-5458.
  4. Note the time and location. Tell the City that it's happening inside the Lake Wilcox Skatepark, approximately how many riders there are, and whether they're using e-scooters, e-bikes or electric dirt bikes. Don't photograph or pursue individual kids if doing so could create a confrontation.
  5. Send Community Standards a written complaint as well. Multiple independent complaints establish that this isn't one person's annoyance. It's a recurring problem affecting the community.

Subject: Motorized vehicles at Lake Wilcox Skatepark

Hello,

I'm writing to report the recurring use of high-powered e-scooters, e-bikes and electric dirt bikes inside the Lake Wilcox Skatepark, particularly during the evening.

These motorized vehicles are being ridden at significant speeds around skateboarders, BMX riders and children and are creating a serious safety issue.

Please increase evening monitoring and enforcement at the skatepark and install clear signage at its entrances stating that e-scooters, e-bikes, electric dirt bikes and other motorized vehicles are prohibited.

This appears to be a recurring problem rather than an isolated incident, and I hope the City will address it before someone is injured.

Thank you.

I'm not asking people to go looking for a fight with teenagers. I'm asking residents who witness this to stop treating it as something we simply have to accept.

Report it. Email the City. Ask for signage. Ask for evening enforcement.

The skatepark should be a safe place for the people it was actually built for, and we shouldn't have to wait for a serious collision before something is done.

12v or ICCU issues?

Hey folks,

Very interested in ordering one here in Canada. However, I’m very concerned about unreliable 12v or ICCU.

Are these concerns for these of you in Europe and Asia that have had it long term (a year or more)?
