is driving a manual a big deal in the usa?

maybe a silly question. but i'm 17 in the UK, drive a manual, like everyone my age that i know. every driver i know can drive manual even if they don't anymore. but this seems to be a USA-focused sub and i'm just wondering, is it kind of a ''big deal'' to drive manual? i've seen on social media it is!

What jobs in psychology might I go into? (ENG)

Just looking for ideas of specific jobs/areas within psychology that I can look into. I'm 17, doing 3 A-Levels in the UK (psychology, sociology, literature). Hoping to do either a psychology, or psychology and sociology joint honours undergrad degree. I'd almost definitely do a masters after, although I'm not sure if I'd do it right after graduating or not.

Areas in psychology (and sociology!) that I'm interested in:

  • abnormal psychology and more complex conditions eg schizophrenia,
  • behavioural psychology
  • social psychology
  • psychology with children, eg play therapy/treating trauma
  • how our environment can impact us (not sure how best to describe this! but I'm currently doing a sociology project through college about social media and eating disorders/beauty standards)
  • crime/criminal psychology. i'm especially interested in how large-scale international crimes end up happening like spying, terrorism if that makes sense? eg radicalisation, and differing opinions on morality, right/wrong.
  • similar to that, things like dictatorships, people who defect eg from North Korea, etc. how they end up happening, corruption within systems, effects of this, why do some people choose to escape. I know this is more politics/sociology than psychology!

I know this is a very broad range! I'm not looking for a specific career so much as just ideas of roles to look into, or areas of study I might be interested in.

If it helps, I am not interested in occupational, health or sports psychology! Thank you :D

A book I read at age 9ish about "hacking", teens, friendship, dadaism

Actually I listened to it as an audiobook. But this is what I remember:

  • Two teens/tweens, girls, in America
  • Main character made a new friend who was new to the school
  • Friend was into Dadaism, photographing and Photoshop/editing photos
  • I think she photoshopped MC's absent father into a photo with MC once?
  • One of them was into "hacking", which wasn't hacking but doing elaborate tricks/pranks at school
  • They got into the small ceiling space above the school's sports hall and one of them hated small spaces and love heights. And the other hated heights and loved small spaces.

It's driving me crazy!!

6 days free of self harm! it's a long road but i'm getting there...

I'm starting a type of therapy called DBT which is apparently pretty intense and hard to get on the waitlist for. But I made it!! The psychiatrist said it's amazing I've made it so far. But I'm studying in college (that's what we call it in the UK) and my grades are good. Sometimes life is very dark and I see no way out. But I'm learning to drag myself out of the hole. And I believe that I can stop the self harm.

I don't know who to tell irl that I got 6 days free. And I didn't think I'd manage it but I did!

Struggling with filling out the educational qualifications section of my UCAS profile

Filling in the educational qualifications section on my UCAS, and struggling a bit.

The first picture is how it looked on my results certificate, the second is the option I picked from the dropdown of qualification types on the UCAS site, and the third is what I've filled in.

Have I done it correctly? As I think Edexcel is part of Pearson but I'm not sure.

Thank you!!

(Also is there a way to be sure that I did "Physics" and not "Physics - 0972"?)
