Facebook Burning Man groups have officially become RV rental hell

I think the Burning Man groups on FB are now approximately 97% RV rental ads. For overpriced 25 year old RVs and camper trailers...

Every scroll is:

  • “PLAYA READY RV!!!”

  • “Burning Man Special!”

  • “Fully equipped luxury desert experience package!”

  • “Only $17,999 and your dignity!”

  • “Comes with AC, Starlink, and enough LED lighting to be visible from orbit!”

  • “Luxury turnkey playa experience for people who fear dust and personal growth!”

Some of these listings sound less like RV rentals and more like elite expedition packages: $18,500 includes generator, AC, prep fee, cleaning fee, deep cleaning fee, playa fee, dust fee, anti-dust fee, and post-playa emotional recovery detailing.

I get why the prices are high, playa dust is basically sentient, but wow the groups are starting to feel like Times Square for RV marketing.

And then buried somewhere between them is an Instagram reel of someone spinning in slow motion wearing LED fur boots while deep house music plays.

I am start to design my camper I have questions.

I am starting to design my camper. What is best practices for the the floor. My goal is a large square drop.. but not square. with a slide out galley that lives under the bed with other storage under the bed. and slide out 12v frigde. with 300-500ah battery. solar charging... I am thinking 6 by 12 or 14... with cabinets and a bed that converts to a small 2 person table. And have it easy to access all the wiring. thats one think I dont like is a lot of campers its imposable to add/fix/upgrade.

Knott's needs to ban streamers.

I saw two different streamers in the parks today. Both had full little crews of like 3 people with cameras, audio gear, and one of them at night had this super bright light setup.

Honestly, they were really intrusive. I found myself actively trying not to end up in the background because I don’t want to randomly end up on someone’s stream or YouTube channel.

I don’t mind smaller creators doing stuff respectfully, like food blogs or casual videos where they’re not disrupting people’s experience. But full-on production crews turning public spaces into filming locations.,feels like too much.

It changes the atmosphere when people feel like they constantly have to dodge cameras just to exist in the space.
