RAYE Playing Cards - Photos

This is for anyone who saw the earlier post from u/YogurtTemporary1922 regarding photos of the playing cards Raye released as merch for M21CB. This sub doesn’t let you post photos in replies, only videos, so I decided to just make my own post!

Side note, the quality of these cards is actually quite good!

Election Officers

Just wanted to let everyone know that it seems like Delaware is in need to Election Officers for the primary election on September 15th. I submitted a form on a whim and got a call from the DE Department of Elections less than 3 hours later. Immediately gave me a site and a date for training.

Depending on the position, you can get paid at least $300 for the whole thing. I didn’t know this but as long as you’re at least 16 years old, you can apply!

Gym Etiquette - Setting up the machine

I’ve never posted here but I just had to ask cause this experience as so… odd? I was finishing up on the leg press. I had already put the plates away and just started wiping the machine down. As I’m doing so, this guy comes up and starts putting the plates on for his workout. Didn’t say “excuse me” or even acknowledge that I was there. He’s literally got his foot an inch away from my phone, straddling my water bottle, and placing plates on the bar that’s less than a foot above my head. I totally get people standing by while you clean up, especially since this is the only traditional leg press in my gym, but it just felt so off putting. On top of that, he was in such a hurry just to spend less than 5 minutes on it.

Just wondering if this seems weird to anybody else. I’ve been working out here for 4 years and never experienced that before.

IBR Payment Amount Changes after 12 Months?

I just received another letter from Mohela stating that I was placed in IBR. The letter included my payment schedule. The first 12 months are about $250, but the next 114 months are around $335.

Is that just a placeholder amount in case I don't recertify my income on time in a year? If not, is there a way for me to get the payment reduced back to $250 when the time comes?

Cons for switching to RAP?

I switched from SAVE to the Standard plan for $217/month through 2046. RAP would be $221/month through 2038. On the surface, RAP obviously is the better deal.

I am likely going to reapply to get RAP instead, but it has been information overload since the switch requirements were announced. I feel like all I've been seeing from people online is hate for RAP, so I want to make sure I'm not missing some obvious issue with the plan that will ruin my life.

My loans got consolidated into a subsidized and an unsubsidized loan. And I am not losing forgiveness progress because when I was paying toward my loans, I was always considered "In-School" or in my grace period until this past May.

Calling Utility Companied as a Prospective Renter?

Has anybody ever tried calling utility companies before signing a lease to see the average spent in the area/apartment building on utilities?

This has been the hardest part of looking for my first apartment. Knowing base rent is all good but I’m honestly terrified about if I’ll be priced out by the cost of utilities after having already signed a year long lease. I was wondering if this might be a good idea and if anyone has tried it and had success.

Asking About Rent Hike History?

I’m hoping to move out of my parents house for the first time soon and currently looking. Some of the places I’m looking at are on the higher end of my budget, and I am wondering about future rent hikes.

Is it normal during a tour to ask how much rent was raised in the last couple of years for current tenants? And if so, are landlords/leasing agents required to answer? Is it a red flag if they don’t?

I’m moving to PA, if that helps.

Thank you!

Aretha Franklin - Soul Age Label

I picked this up on my trip to Japan last year, easily my favorite souvenir. I’m not a super serious collector so I don’t know much about this Soul Age label. I’d love to know more about it, and Japanese pressings in general as I’ve recently learned from a friend they’re particularly sought after by collectors. If anyone could point me towards any info I’d appreciate it!

So in love with the array of colors across her records, and I’m just waiting for my purchase of Click Clack Symphony to ship. I love collecting RAYE on vinyl and I’m super proud of this collection. And here’s to hoping she can do another pressing of Euphoric Sad Songs someday in the future 🤞🏾
