Is it BR 540’s “burnt sugar” accord that’s making me anxious, or is it the Dubai dupes?

I’m a longtime Baccarat Rouge 540 fan. Love it in EDP, the oil, the whole DNA. Something about it makes me feel comfy and cozy as if the chai is on simmer during slow evenings…

Lately I’ve noticed that specific burnt sugar / saffron-ish sweetness in it (in the clone I’ve been using) is giving me a weirdly anxious, almost overstimulated feeling instead of the cozy vibe I used to get. Nothing else has changed in my routine, so I’m trying to figure out if this is:
1. Scent fatigue/sensitization from wearing it too much OR
2. Just the Dubai dupes being poorly blended versions of that note (cheaper aroma chemicals, harsher saffron substitutes, etc.) rather than the real accord or
3. Something unrelated to the fragrance entirely

Has anyone else gone through a phase where a scent you used to find soothing started feeling off? Feeling lost 🫤

What was the first perfume that got you into fragrance? How did your journey start?

We’ve all got that one scent that flipped the switch. Maybe it was something a parent wore, a gift someone gave you, or a random sample that hit different. For me it was Davidoff Cool water that a friend gifted, but that never appealed to me so much.
Later on it was actually CK One Gold edition that truly got me into proper fragrances!

Curious to hear everyone’s origin stories….

Rant | Got these two from Kiro B1G1

Cinnamon Nude
Sandy Rose

After a lot of reconsiderations, I finally bought Kiro Lipsticks

The shades are way more darker than advertised to be honest. I am NC 20, and man I can only wear these to parties

Formula takes long to dry and sticky. So disappointed.

My new signature scent is technically a men’s fragrance and I am lovin it 🦋

Y’all. Jimmy Choo Man Blue just became my most reached for bottle as the temperature has started soaring, and I need to talk about it hehe
When I I spritzed it, I was expecting something heavy and workout appropriate. Instead I got this gorgeous rush of bergamot and aquatic notes that felt like standing on a coastal cliff at golden hour.
Light, airy, but with enough depth from the base woods that it doesn’t just disappear in an hour.
On my skin it leans almost unisex-fresh, none of the aggressive musk that some men’s fragrances go full throttle on. The dry-down is soft amber and suede that just lingers…. I think I have a thing for amber.
I’ve been wearing it to the office all week.

Scent profile: bergamot, sea notes, cardamom / suede, musk, cedar

Longevity: Solid 6–7 hours on me, 6+ sprays

Vibe: Clean beach vacation, work
