[Prediction] What if Nightfall finds out that Anya can read minds before Loid and Yor do?

Aside from Damian, who likely doesn’t believe Anya when she told him but is probably still considering it, and Mr. Authen who is mentally inconsistent, no one else seems close to finding out.

In the most recent chapter, 137, Anya was tailing Nightfall, who is about to run into Desmond. Assuming Anya and Desmond miss reading each other’s minds (or at least Donovan somehow chooses not to do away with Anya), Nightfall will probably intervene and save Anya from Donovan, while looking into Authen’s past, so she might be the one to connect the dots and find out that Anya can read minds.

First things first: she would absolutely freak out that Anya knows how in love she is with Loid.

After Nightfall calms down, Anya will leverage this to her advantage, saying if “hard no mama” tries to replace Yor, she’ll reveal Nightfall’s secret to Loid. Nightfall has to comply, as Anya is central to Operation Strix, so she can’t do anything to Anya.

Nightfall would then become a better ally to the operation and would work with Anya to find out the lab Anya came from and the people responsible for her, leading to more intel on Donovan’s plans.

Anya is a genius just from the first episode

In just the first episode she:

  • Has a crossword prepared for impressing whoever is going to adopt her, displaying skill with social engineering
  • Operates a transmitter and either links it to an enemy receiver or knows it’s already linked to an enemy receiver (as evidenced by the taunting language she uses, “Come and get me!”)
  • Picked up that “Twilight” is Loid’s spy name and typed multiple sentences in Morse code by reading a chart about it near the equipment (she may have learned how to type in Morse code from the lab, but she can type it fast enough that the enemy thinks it’s actually him)
  • Knew how to properly pretend to Loid that she met people playing tag to fit his given story, while not revealing she knew it was him all along with a mask, all while in a high stress environment

And she’s only 4-5 years old!

Note: I’m assuming that the qualification test was multiple choice, given that one girl is saying, “Eeny meeny miney mo!” The test doesn’t necessarily have to be long either. However, if there were at least one question where it wasn’t multiple choice, she would have to show her work to avoid suspicion, and know what work to show.

So, I loved the audiobooks and the manga [Parts 1 & 2], so much so that I started the anime! And...uh...

Judging an anime purely on the first episode:

  1. Is it just me or do the mouths look kind of...off?
  2. What is that thing on Tuuli's head??
  3. That jumpscare was unnecessary.

And yeah, I can see why people feel like the anime cuts out a lot of stuff. The pacing, interactions, and emotional beats all felt kinda weird.

Still, gonna see if the rest of the first season is okay. Hopefully it gets better! Though I guess I am judging it based on the manga

My first time tufting! Guess I should’ve expected it to not be perfect, but it’s not terrible, I guess?
