NECA RAMBO: Not perfect, Not bad.

These work really well in a limited number of poses. I still think they look better than some of the modern figures from other companies. This is definitely the better of the two Rambo II figures as far as the face sculpt, but I had to get the other one for the bow. Mission accomplished

Wasteland Wash

These Mad Max figures were released in 2000 by the now defunct N2toys. While the dimensions and articulation leave a lot to be desired, they are still pretty interesting. They’re the only Mad Max line to date and they hail from a time when this style of figure was in its infancy.
I got the one in the second picture at a Suncoast Video at the mall back when they came out. The one with the dog was always nowhere to be found, but I’ve finally got him 26 years later.
I’m curious if anyone can identify how the dirt effect was achieved. I’d like to do some 1/12th scale accessories and props for my display to keep everything consistent.
The color reminds me of Fullers Earth, a powder that’s commonly used to weather costumes in films set in desert environments, but the finish leads me to believe it’s a wash of some kind, which I know nothing about. Any ideas?

I started a small collection recently. I had the N2 Toys Max w/ Feral Kid from Suncoast Video back in the day, which I still have, but I always wanted the one with dog instead. I picked him up recently along with the 1:43 AutoArt Interceptor (which is totally deserving of its reputation), and some other random bits.
Pic 2 is Max. He was my first Mad Max prop 10 years ago and the best friend I’ve ever had.

This was a great read. Pretty average for a novelization, but by far the best of the Mad Max books. The first two are pretty sparse, with little to glean that isn’t already in the films, and in the case of MM1, the action is toned down pretty significantly. This one fleshes out the story quite a bit, and gives the monkey his due.
