What have been peoples' recent experiences with the new entry-exit system (EES)m at Marco Polo Airport (VCE).

I have been reading reports of long delays at some European airports, but I have not seen anything reported on VCE. I am less concerned about entry than knowing how much time to allow to get to VCE for our departure. We will be leaving Venice on a Thursday just after noon on a flight leaving the EU. It looks like most flights through VCE are intra-EU (in the two hours before our flight I see flights to NY, DC, London, and Shanghai outside of the EES zone) and flights to Manchester, Toronto, London, and Atlanta in the hour we depart, so maybe lines aren't terrible?

Anyone have any recent experiences?

My family is going to the Dolomites for the first time in August. Should we carry Euros for parking, rifugios, etc... Our daily itinerary isn't settled, but we will be basing in Bolzano, Selva, Dobbioco, and Cortina for our hikes. Exchanging cash seems less important with each trip we take, but I wasn't sure particularly outside villages whether we should be prepared to need cash. If so, how much would make sense for a family of four over ten days.
