Vintage (?) pilot pen font
I found this pen in a drawer at my grandma's house and while the design of the pen itself is similar to modern versions of the pilot precise V5, the font on the barrel is totally different. I am trying to figure out the age of the pen because I am guessing it is from 2008-2012 but haven't found much on google and hoping the font could maybe help date it. The "precise" text looks very similar to the Poiret One font with a few slight noticeable tweaks:
- the lowercase p on the pen does not have a little serif that sticks up
- The proportions of the s are slightly different. On the pen the top curve is more balances whereas in Poiret one, the top curve is way smaller
- The curve of the r is cut back a bit on the pen
My guess is that pilot started with Poiret One as a base and then tweaked a few minor things so it looked better on a curved pen barrel. However, I wanted to know if there was the possibility that this is its own font?
Anyways, any ideas appreciated at all, either in relation to the font ID or date of the pen model.
