Thinking of switching to a rollerball pen? Which Brand is the best one
I bought this parker sonnet online years and years ago, I didn't know a whole lot about pens at the time, and only got it because it looked nice and my dad said parker was a good brand. Now that im older and more interested in fountain pens, i decided to look into parker, and up looking at examples of other parker sonnets, I'm like 95% sure mine is a fake, but I still want some second opinions
When I’m dressing for the day, I often choose a Uniball pen and ink color to match my clothing color. The ink of each pen matches the pen’s body color. Since I wear predominantly blues, blacks, browns and greens, it is easy.
Finished today. Made with purple and gold resin with real Diamond dust. Sporting ebonite finials and section with brass bands and gold plated clip. Topped of with a Bock #5 medium gold plated nib.
Let me know what you think. All comments are most welcome.
Hi everyone, looking for any insight on an unusual piece in my pen drawer. It is a Parker Arrow Flighter Rollerball, fully marked with the Parker logo, "Made in England", and the date code IC (Q2 1984). It features the classic minimal, 3-sided un-feathered arrow clip and a push-on cap.
What makes it unique is that the entire cap and body are completely covered in a deeply cut, repeating geometric pattern. The pattern consists of a matrix of "T" shapes made of 3 intersecting vertical and 3 horizontal lines. any ideas would be most welcomed.
It's much cheaper, and much safer, than trying to find a reliable real one these days.
I found these two pilot precise rolling ball V5 pens in a drawer in my grandma's house and I am trying to figure out what year they are from. I hadn't seen models with this font and with some quick google searching I couldn't turn anything up. My grandma moved into the house in 2006 so my guess is that it is after that. Maybe between 2007-2012? I tried to ID the font and it looks very similar to the Poiret One font with just a few little tweaks. Not sure if that is a clue or not. Claude couldn't really help me so I thought I would throw it out into the world in case there is an expert somewhere who has an idea.
Anyways, just a fun little mystery! I really love the way the font looks actually and both pens write amazing. Even better I would say than pens I have bought recently of the modern version of the same model.
A beautiful translucent pen, thanks to u/Wise_Strawberry52, arrived in excellent packaging.

Pen: Jinhao Dadao 9019
Nib: F nib
Ink: Camlin Royal Blue
Feedback: Almost nil, very smooth for its nib size

Words written: Japanese ( A Journey of a 1000 steps begins with a single step), advance apologies for my sub par Japanese writing.

I recently got this pen and wanted to refill the ink but am unsure what kind of ink it is. it says "DS500 84 25.02 K 07" If anyone has any suggestions I appreciate it!
Can someone please help ID this pen and the ink refill, I understand it says Ceramic Kyocera and I understand that it's a 2 in 1 but I can't find the exact name or model number, and if you can read the what I'm assuming is Japanese writing on the side that would be super cool, thanks in advance
HELP! I work at a skilled nursing facility as a ward clerk and I reiceved this pen from a home health marketer. It is the BEST pen I ever used. It doesn’t bleed, it’s extremely smooth, the thickness is ideal, it’s like perfect for my handwriting. I’m left handed and things always streak on my handwriting but t s one is perfect. I found SKU #VG2504 inside..i need help!!!!!
Are there any not MB, that are gel and a broad tip? Thank You.
I inherited a rather large pen collection, probably close to 2000 or more, I’m looking for ideas for displaying them. Does anybody display their pens?
Thanks!
I am obsessed with the Faber Castell Fast Gel 0.5mm Blue pen but I can't find them online to buy in NZ anywhere (I think they might be only making the 0.7 version).
Does anyone have good recommendation of a pen that is the same for everyday use? I like the colour, the comfort, good ink flow, doesn't skip, dont have to push down hard into the page, doesn't smudge, not too scratchy. I also like the thickness.
Help I'm desperate
I am very particular about my writing utensils, and hope I’m in good company here!!
I’m an AD for books, so I read near-constantly for work, and must take very detailed notes as I go. I frequently have to organize many different types of details for many characters and places as I go. The better, more clearly organized my note taking, the easier and faster my job is later.
I currently love using the post-it flag tabs in both Bright and Pastel color variations, together totaling 10ish colors. In my perfect conditions, I’m also using highlighters that correspond to the tabs. Ideally, with clickers instead of caps, as caps can be both cumbersome (as I often read on the go) and slow me down significantly, frequently resulting in me destroying nibs of pens/highlighters from rapidly and blindly slamming lids in the wrong places lol.
I’m looking for a way to parce down the items I have to juggle by getting a multi highlighter.
I’ve seen the 5 way star/flower ones, which have caps but would be more compact and convenient. But they look so cheap to me, and my experience with them in years past has not been positive. I cannot have them bleeding on the ink, leaking, being too opaque to read through, caps not staying on, etc.
A cap-free option would be a dream come true, but I’m open to getting multiple 5-way ones with caps if I know they are great on every other front. As these will be logging 30h weeks, I don’t mind either more expensive ones, or a cheaper one that comes only in a bulk pack.
The number one priority is an easier, more compact way to carry around 10 highlighter colors.
Please share your recs!!
Thanks in advance !

Ps- open to other recs if you think of them… I’ve gone through so many notebook pen pouches (you know, the elastic kind to keep it with your book!) that are too small/not adjustable/cheaply made I’m considering making my own 😅
