My controversial opinion on honey specifically is that we’ve been in a symbiotic relationship with bees pretty much the entire time Homo sapiens have existed.

I fully support not consuming honey. I just also ask we take a look at how pollinators are suffering. We need to stop all the shit ruining the life of bees. We also now have a several thousands of years old contract with these little guys where we keep them largely free of predators in exchange for some honey.

And before anyone starts, bees just make honey. They make more than a hive can utilize. This was the opening exchange between humans and bees. Now, our stewardship is critical for pollination in some areas.

I probably have a reputation around this subreddit now for challenging the banality of many vegan arguments. Honey is the most banal and the outrage people have over it is predicated on their desire to be outraged over any direct harm to bees.

No, honey is not made by putting bees in a centrifuge. Wild logic on this one, did cavemen have centrifuges?
