Natasha Mack out for at least 2-4 weeks

RIP to our Mighty Mercury dances ☹️☹️☹️☹️

Nate you better play Linskens. She looks so decent!!!! (AT is about to be our starting center for the next month)

Who should we target with our empty roster spot?

EDIT: It's confirmed that Nogic is out for the season

With Nogic suspended and a million injuries, we've gotta sign someone eventually.

I'm thinking a big depending on Mack's timeline since Nate isn't all-in on Linskens. I think Sami will be back in the next few weeks and can replace Nogic's production. But who should we actually target? Should we raid a development spot? (looking at you Kate Martin)

In honor of Pride Month: Who's your starting 5 in a gay v straights game?

I don't think this has been posted this month. Let's have the annual debate: who's your starting 5 of the gays and who's your starting 5 of the straights? And who wins?

These are personal preference lineups folks. I am not in charge of the World Cup roster. This is to get the ball rolling.

Gay Generic Ballot: Paige/Jackie/Gabby/Stewie/JJ

MY Gay Starting 5:

PG: Olivia Miles (This is the gayest starting position in the league apparently)

SG: Brittney Sykes (Sue me! I love Slim! Let's foul out the straights!)

SF: KMac (edit for posterity: originally had Gabby, remembered KMac exists)

PF: Alyssa Thomas (I am a Mercury fan at the end of the day. Make your own damn starting lineup. This is a gay position with multiple good choices.)

C: Brittney Griner (Again. Mercury/BG fan. JJ, Shep and Natasha Howard are up for grabs here)

6POYs/Honorable Mention: Jackie Young, T, Sami, Jordin

Straight Generic Ballot: CC/Sabrina/Allisha/Phee/A'ja

MY Straight Starting 5:

PG: Caitlin (for some reason I thought I could avoid controversy and Discussions as a Mercury fan by picking someone else. It's apparent that was stupid and a bad call.) Skylar Diggins (with a messy bun)

SG: Kelsey Plum

SF: Allisha Gray

PF: Angel

C: A'ja

6POY/Honorable Mention Because I Blanked On Straight SF's Initially But The Comments Are Confusing if I Delete This: Nia Coffey (apparently we need additonal confirmation here)

Other Hetero Honorable Mentions: Rhyne, Sabrina, AB, Sonia, Dearica

Sloot set to make her season debut tomorrow against the Fire

I know she’s not popular rn but I’m ALWAYS happy to see someone return from an ACL tear. There’s a lot relying on the Sloot and Azurá pick n roll

Satou in concussion protocol, Stewie out (rest) tonight

Ah shit. I was really hoping it was a face injury and she just had to pop on a mask.

Mack Truck Update

So glad we fixed our center issue and Nate’s reluctance to playing them during free agency 😍

Natasha Mack out tonight with a foot injury

We are officially a hospital squad again. We're down 2 starters and 2 bench guards (Sami and Nogic).

DB is most likely moving to the starting lineup - basketball wise, I'd rather her with all the experience than Ayayi. Gonna be a bloodbath.

All Star Voting is open NOW!

A few underrated/less popular players for your consideration if you don't have a full ballot:

Guards: Slim, Carla Leite

Frontcourt: Shakira, Natasha Howard, AT (had to be selected by the coaches last year despite being 3rd in MVP voting)

AT, Kah ruled out against the Fire

Let’s see what Ayayi has in store for us. And do not give DB 20 shots.

Edit: I appreciate the commisseration friends

What can we realistically do to get out of this hole?

The obvious answer is fire Nate. Do you think the front office will have the guts to do that in the next week? It is a hell of a lot easier to miss the playoffs this year and I've been on this train since the finals.

I don't think our players are the biggest issue. We mostly have a servicable roster, it's just the way they're being used. DB would be fine for 10 minutes a night. Kah could potentially be better with less shots. There are adjustments to be made but none as glaring as the coaching.

That brings us to point 3 - trades. How interested are teams in our random old rookies anyways?

Players we shouldn't trade: AT, Mack (emotional support + very cheap contract), Mo, Yoyo

Players with questionable trade value/return: Linskens, Brochant, Ayayi

Players others don't want: Sami, DB, Kiana, Carter

Please take her away/we can get stuff back for her: Kah

Natasha Mack confirms it was a mid-game cramp

MOST IMPROVED AGENDA TRUCKS ALONG. And All-Defense. Fun fact: there’s only been one game this season where she shot under 80%.

This is the updated training camp roster— looks like Brochant has arrived. I’m guessing the last cut comes close to the deadline tomorrow.

Their rankings:

  1. Aces

  2. Liberty (I honestly think they'll be the 1 seed. Aces will still be a contender but the Liberty have more depth)

  3. Dream

  4. Fever

  5. Wings

  6. Mercury (I can live with this)

  7. Sparks

  8. Lynx

  9. Valkyries

  10. Sky

  11. Tempo

  12. Sun

  13. Mystics

  14. Storm

  15. Fire
