Car/Vespa/Bus?? How do people travel?
Me and my boyfriend are going to Italy around the 20th of august, for a week. Neither of us have been to this part of Italy before. The red marker is where our accomodation will be, and the blue markers are the places we want to visit. We want to explore a lot, and visit different beaches. Our first idea was to rent a car, but I asked in some facebook groups and everyone told us to forget it because there will be huge traffic, parking will be impossible to find, and even if there is parking, it’s super expensive. Okay, next option is a motorcycle. My boyfriend has been on a lighter motorcycle before (50cc), I have never, and he also hasn’t had anyone sit behind him before. I’ve also heard that it’s impossible to find anything below 125cc in Italy. I also asked my father who rides motorcycles for a hobby, and he tried to talk me out of it. I did more research, and found other people saying it’s too dangerous because of the roads. I’m also concerned about the fact that we won’t be wearing proper gear, only a helmet, nothing to protect our skin. I also read some comments saying it’s hard to find parking with a motorcycle too. So now we’re totally lost. Bus is another option, but I assume it would be packed, and I get sick on buses pretty fast, especially if it’s packed, hot, and if there’s loads of turns. And there will be.. So we really don’t know what to do. Some of the places we want to go to are an hour away by car. A normal bike isn’t an option either, for that reason and also because biking uphill in august would be near impossible. No one has been able to give me a straightforward answer on how we could get to these places realistically. How do people travel in this area?!
