Should I reschedule my son’s birthday party?

I just realized that I scheduled my son’s birthday party on the Sunday before Labor Day. I would not have pick that day if I had known. My son’s school starts mid-Aug so it will be a month into school.

I dont think it would be an issue to change the and Invitations haven‘t gone out yet. I have texted a couple close friends to save the date though.

My son will be the new kid in his class and I plan on inviting all 16 of his new classmates. He will be going to a couple weeks of summer camp there so I might let him invite any friends he makes. We are inviting a total of 35 kids and I would prefer at least 24 given the cost of the venue.

Should I reschedule?

Travel toys

We are going on a 10 hour road trip and need some toys to keep my six year old entertained. He already has a Yoto and gets carsick when he reads in the car. We plan on letting him watch the iPad for a little bit but I still more ideas. Thanks!

Birthday party venue

I‘m trying to plan a party for my recently graduated kindergarten. I plan on having the party at the end of August and thinking about this indoor playground nearby. I like it because I can book out the whole place but it’s small and it’s pretty much a large jungle gym with a slide. I would liken it to a much nicer McDonalds playground with an enclosed area to run around and some other structures to play in. I prefer a party where the kids can just run around and (because we are new at the school) I can get to know the parents.

My son went there over Spring Break and played with his friend who is a year older and they occupied themselves for four hours. So on one hand, I’m thinking even though it’s not the most exciting place (compared to a trampoline park or Chuck E Cheese) the kids will have enough fun for a couple hours.

I was also thinking about having a balloon artist there but not sure if six year olds will enjoy that. Theres a very engaging artist that can make pretty complicated balloon art like Iron Man and Elsa. I like the idea that the artist can be entertainment and also I wouldn’t feel the need to get party favors.

Do you think this would be a fun venue for a sixth birthday? Do you think a balloon artist would be necessary or add a lot to the fun factor?
