Recessed floor section in my hotel's utility area

There's this weird tub-like recessed section in my hotel's utility area. My first guess was a place to wash stuff, but there doesn't seem to be a faucet nearby nor a drain for the water.

There are staff-only rooms on the other side, so one must cross this area to go there. I'd imagine it's not really practical if, when used, this alley was to be blocked. And also, it's not hidden at all from the guests. Just to the right of this is the stairs leading to the rooms.

Got a vintage Pentel P207 for free!

Was getting some stuff, and the seller threw in this broken P207 as a bonus. It's in quite good condition, apart from the broken tube & detached clutch assembly, nothing too hard to fix. A nice opportunity to take a pic of it too, since that part is not meant to be disassembled.

From the date code on the tube & this looks to be made in 1980.

I guess Medhi would like this hotel?

No need to look for the breaker panel here! When checking in, the receptionist specifically told us to turn them on first for each room 👍

Lifted it and the handle came off. Judging by how loose it is, looks like every hotel guest made the same mistake.
