There was some speculation during the big announcement about whether L1 TMs will get their automatic annual raise if they've been written up. I said that you don't get a raise while on final and some folks disagreed with me. This is the verbiage that comes thru when an L1 is approaching their first year (which is the automatic raise system that was already in place prior to the big announcement):

-If your Team Member is on a Final Corrective Action tracked in Workday (from 8/20/23 and beyond) they will not receive the 12-month progression pay increase. However, Team Leaders may consider an increase review the Inkling guide for detailed information (see exceptions and variances section)

So, yes, I believe if you are on an active final on your anniversary you will not be receiving a raise, however your TL can request it once the final drops off. Be sure to take responsibility and keep track of this, and advocate for yourself politely. No one cares as much about your pay as you do!

Had a MA five days ago, a hard decision I never wanted to have to make but probably the right one. I don't feel really any emotions around the abortion itself. I'm glad to not be nauseous every day anymore, and pissed that I'm still having painful cramps. Wishing I could just go back to normal but know it will take some time.

But, oh, my god. The neediness. I'm older and have done a lot of work on myself. My relationship is incredibly healthy, mutual, caring and respectful. We give each other a fantastic balance of attention and space. And he has been an absolute angel through the MA (setting aside the freak out he had about the pregnancy lol). Taking care of me, getting me whatever I need, cleaning and cooking for me at my home.

But now that it's over and we're trying to get back to our routines, back in our groove, I feel desperate and lost. I want to see him every day. He says he doesn't want to stay the night, for a perfectly practical reason, and I feel like my heart is being ripped out. I feel jealous in ways I never have with him. I honestly feel mad we're not spending every free moment together and that is NOT the relationship we have or want or need. I don't want to feel like this. I'm a very independent person. I haven't lived with a man in over ten years!

We're seeing a couples counselor to make sure we get through this in a healthy way, so I will mention this in our next session, but I'm just wondering if you've dealt with this and how long it took to feel like yourself again? Or what you did to balance your hormones? Getting some gnarly hormonal acne on my jaw line too so that's fun.

There is a verbal communication habit many of my customers have that drives me up the fucking wall. Instead of asking politely (or hell, even just pointedly) "Do you have x?" or "Where do you keep x?" they STATE "You don't have x."

First of all, don't tell me my business. 😂 Second of all, why do you have to be so god damn negative?? And more to the point of this story, THOSE PHRASES HAVE DIFFERENT MEANINGS!

Yesterday I had a customer come up to me and say "You don't have key lime pie." I took her at her word, because I hadn't made it over to the area where we keep cold holding single serve desserts yet that day, and we've been pretty short staffed, and for some reason key lime pie has been unprecedentedly popular this summer. So I told her I'm sorry but we will prioritize making it some time today.

An hour later I walked by that area and saw that we had key lime slices, halves, AND whole pies. Fully stocked. There is no where else in my shop that looks like a place key lime pie would be (I've been to other locations and although we all keep them in different places, they're always stocked with a similar assortment).

If she didn't know where it would be, why wouldn't she say "Where would I find key lime pie?" I hate these people so much. (And, for the record, I love a majority of my customers!)

I'm designing a dress that will have a substantial tiered skirt and a separate sheer blouse/overdress, and am considering making a corselet to attach the skirt to. The issue I'm having is that most corset patterns have a Victorian or similar silhouette, but I'm going for more of a 50s/New Look silhouette. Since the corselet will be lightly visible under the sheer overdress, I would like it to have that look as well. I'm just not sure exactly what I should be looking for. A cupped corset, I presume, but even those are too....round? Modern? I guess I'm asking if anyone has seen a cupped corset pattern that extends over the hips and has pointy tiddies 😂 thank you!!

Can someone help me with converting women's to men's sizing in Xeros? I reached out to their customer service to ask and they gave me a completely unhelpful bullshit answer about how it's approximate and this is what works for them or something.

I wear a woman's US 9.5 in Xeros which according to their chart is a EU 40. Their men's chart says an EU 40 (which is supposed to be the same across all charts!!!) is a US 7. But traditionally​ women's​ US sizing should be 1.5 sizes down, so I should wear a men's 8.

My favorite shoe is discontinued and I'm desperately trying to find more pairs so I'm trying to expand my used search to either women's or men's, but you can't return used pairs so I can't gamble on getting the men's 7 if it's going to be two sizes too small. 😤

Anyone have info on what was changed in the GIG this month? Really annoyed they make you sign off acknowledging you read the changes but don't tell you what the changes are. I don't have time to reread the entire handbook, especially not now that it's made up of infinite nesting menus instead of just text you can skim.
