Aerial shot from a documentary about the western frontier in America. Reverse image search shows a stock aerial video from the same lake (?). The description only says the «coast of British Columbia». Anyone have any clue?

To sum it up: Far Cry 5 is really living rent free in my head…
About four years ago I was living alone in a small town in Scandinavia, where I had moved for work. I was in nature constantly, basically living life. I also had a xbox one for the rainy days, and there was a discount on Far Cry 5 around that time. I had played the first game and FC3, so I thought I’d give it a try.
I ended up playing it A LOT, I really enjoyed it. I have always been a single player, online gaming is not my thing. Plus, I love free roaming games. I hated the forced progression through the game though, so naturally I had to play through several times.
The thing is, I moved to the city with my gf just a few months after this, which basically meant that my life out there in the middle of nowhere, enjoying nature and also playing FC5 in the evenings, had ended. It was the end of an era, which I liked. But it was also sad at the same time.
Fast forward to 2026 and I find myself playing the reimagined version of the soundtrack by Hammock to my kid when he is going to bed. There is something about FC5 that just stays with me. Hope County is just so pretty despite everything that’s going on. I believe Hammock’s version of the soundtrack is a masterpiece. The game wouldn’t be the same without it imo. I never wanted the loading screens to end haha.
There has also been a lot of things going on in real life America the last few years (as you all know). I just can’t help but draw parallells between real life and Hope county, although I know this is a complex discussion. It just sad to see everything that’s going on, and that in a way the US might be changing (or wasn’t what we thought it was) for good. I don’t mean to jump into a discussion about American politics as a not so involved Scandinavian, I just wanted to put down some words to how I feel about it.
I miss Hope county, I miss nature both irl and in the game, and I miss when things were normal.
In the meantime I’ll just indoctrinate my son to «keep his rifle by his side» and that the «water will wash away his sins» (I am not religious haha)
