I genuinely don’t understand how Netmarble manages to make this game feel like one step forward and two steps back every single time.
Today I tried doing the Tanaris raid. I joined probably 5 or 6 different groups, and every single time the exact same thing happened: we didn’t hit the 12-minute mark in the middle of the raid, so people immediately started leaving and the group disbanded.
That’s it. Run over. Everyone else gets screwed.
And honestly, can you even blame the players at this point? Netmarble designed the raid this way. Adding these timers just encourages people to quit the second a run isn’t going perfectly. Instead of creating a challenging raid where people actually want to work together and finish it, they’ve created this toxic environment where everyone is watching the clock and ready to abandon ship.
To put it into perspective, I have a P7 Merlin. I’m doing decent damage. I’m not expecting to get carried through the raid. Yet I STILL have to deal with group after group falling apart because of this stupid timer system.
And then there are the bugs.
Some of the same bugs have been around since Tanaris released. How are we still dealing with this stuff? It feels like every time the developers improve one part of the game, they somehow manage to make something else worse.
One step forward. Two steps back.
The frustrating part is that I actually WANT to love this game.
The animations are fantastic. The character designs are fantastic. Seeing new characters and their animations is genuinely one of the reasons I’ll probably keep playing.
But my god, underneath all of that is such a toxic, whale-heavy game.
I’m fine with difficult content. I’m fine with having to build strong characters. I’m even fine with raids requiring coordination.
What I’m not fine with is designing content in a way that actively encourages players to screw over the rest of their group the moment a timer isn’t met.
At some point Netmarble needs to realize that there’s a difference between making content challenging and making content miserable.
I think the biggest problem with this game is the timer-based reward system. It forces players to complete content within a certain amount of time to get the best rewards. That creates a toxic environment where only the strongest players can consistently play together and succeed. Instead of encouraging teamwork and helping others improve, it pushes everyone to prioritize speed and efficiency, leaving weaker or newer players behind. A game should reward skill and effort without making the community feel so exclusive.
Let me know if you agree with this.
