Curious if anyone has set up a successful aquaponic garden with their wallstad tank and can share their experience. I have a 5.5 gallon tank with just snails and other micro/mesofauna (no shrimp or fish). The plants are all really thriving, especially the floaters. In fact, The dwarf water lettuce thrives so much their Roots just about take over the tank, and I've considered removing them for this reason.

This made me think that I could replace them herbs for an aquaponic setup in this already established tank. I was hoping to hear from personal experiences of people who have tried this before.
I'm in the health sciences. I'm not sure if this happens in other fields, but when I'm rejected from my first journal, they routinely recommend I transfer my submission to partner journals. Note, these are sometimes but not always open-access alternatives. Sometimes, they are reputable hybrid journals.
My question is: does this offer to transfer my submission reflect that the editors thought it was a quality article, just not fit for their journal? Or do 100% of rejections get the offer to transfer their submission to partner journals?
I live in NYC and miss having access to yard sales with cheap stuff. I have a car but unsure where to go in the surrounding areas to find this. Any input welcome!
