Wife says it’s ok to hit our big dog because he needs to learn pack mentality??

We have a Bernese mountain dog. He isn’t well trained but he is sweet and loving and I’ve been working hard to have him learn hand signals and try to reduce his food dependency. My wife is a famous horse and cow trainer. She says that giving a dog a good hit is the same with a horse to let them know she is the alpha. I don’t know if it’s right. She has trained several winners with horses so maybe she’s right?

From the label:
• Concentration: 20mg/0.5mL = 40mg/mL
• Dose: 8.8mg
• Volume needed: 8.8 ÷ 40 = 0.22mL
On a 1cc/mL syringe marked to 100 units, each unit = 0.01mL, so:
0.22mL = 22 units, not 44.
The label itself says “0.22 mg” in the dosage line but that appears to be a typo.
