What else should I give?

My sisters pregnant, woohoo! We’ve got her a few things off her registry for her baby shower gift, but she’s mentioned before how much she likes the idea of ‘What you want, not need’ gift baskets.

It’s things that don’t relate to the kids or the parenting aspect but something you’ll feel so relaxed with after…so far we’ve got them three gift cards for a deep cleaning company, some deliveroo gift cards for when you can’t be bothered to make dinner. And so far that’s all I’ve got lol!

I can’t think of anything else and want it to be a surprise for her, so any ideas?

Thank you!!!

Children’s growth in the Us?

This might make no sense, but I was just wondering in general how quickly kids grow up in the US? In England, we start upper school at around 11, and by 12, most of my school year when I was younger was drinking and smoking. I wondered because American kids start high school at 14 if they get more of a childhood? Or if stuff like drinking culture doesn’t have as big of an impact on American students? Also with British schools, you finish at 16 before focusing on more in depth study and like AOC is 16 too so i feel like when an English teen is 16 they feel quite mature and I even know some that have ‘settled down’ by seventeen (fake ids that have given them too much clubbing time since they were about 13 means they’re exhausted by now) and I was just wondering if American kids follow that pattern too? :)

HIMYM has made me not scared of getting older.

I have no idea why but although a smarter part of my brain has always been like “of course a person doesn’t become too old in their 30s”, I’ve always been surrounded by people who’ve got married at like 24 and have kids etc by 30. And HIMYM, just shows that you don’t have to rush your life, they’re all in their 30s for most of the series and don’t start talking about kids until season 6, most don’t get married for a while and they still spend their days having fun.

Sorry this was well stupid

The World Cup?

What mostly are American attitudes towards the World Cup?

Specifically now that it’s being hosted in America but also before that? Only because I’ve always thought Americans didn’t give one about the World Cup and it was deffo more a (every continent but North America) thing with obviously some people being interested in it in America.

But like I know that football isn’t as popular in the US so what type of attitudes do they have towards the World Cup now that they’re hosting it? For Europe at least I can say, that excitement has very much downed since America is hosting the World Cup and it’s seemed to take a real hit from the previous buzz it used to have because it’s in the US

Did the writers know??

Obviously the series is nine seasons so like woah, but I didn’t know if they’d have the whole script and ending planned for the mother from the beginning? I feel like lots of things throughout the season relate to her so they might have but also NINE SEASONS that they have the ending planned? Unless they knew the mother and then wrote the episodes in the middle.

I could be completely overthinking this haha 😭 but it’s only because at the stripper thanksgiving at the Lusty Leopards in season one, the stripper that Ted pretends is the mum is called ‘Tracy’ and so is the real mum. If they haven’t got the mapped out ending, naming the mum Tracy and the stripper Tracy was actually perfection in coincidence
