2016 Sorrento Transmission Failure

2nd owner. 75k miles. Transmission had internal failure. I already know about the engine on this model blowing thru oil.

I am pissed. KIA is not providing ANY kind of goodwill effort and is pulling the loner they were letting me use. Parts are on back order.

Curious if anyone had the same issue.

Such a scam

Born and raised in SD. I know we all cannot stand the crooks at SDGE. But fucking hell. (and yeah solar is NOT and option for everyone) Hoping 'balcony solar' is passed in CA soon.

DIY seed cakes/cylinders?

I have been toying with the idea of making some of my own. Anyone had success? Its hot and humid where I am currently. I hear the gelatin doesn't hold well in the heat?

Doesnt have to be fancy

This is actually temporary while I work on the DIY fountain I had in that spot. I might just keep this one cause its way easier to clean. 😆

PSA

Get a dead branch and put it next to your bird bath. I just added it and I swear more are coming to the bath. But we are in a heat wave, so could be that...

Keep it twiggy, or the squirrels will use it for a launch spot to your feeder.

more sickness

Ugggh. Pretty sure I have a sick sparrow of some kind. Sat at the bird bath for 5 min and looked like it was gonna fall over. Very lethargic. Didn't even care when I got close to it.

This sucks. Pretty sure its salmonella. I juuuust put my feeders back up after dealing with 'fat finch disease'. 😭

Looks like I may be sticking to nectar and whole nuts....no more seed for the sparrows/finchs/doves.

ETA: and I clean my stuff weekly. Even the bird bath.

Mr. Nutall

Finally he hung around long enough for me to get some pics. I pressed nuts into some home made bark butter. Seems no one cares for my bark butter, so they dig out the nuts. 🤣 I've seen a female too.

DIY bird bath fountain - sealing pot hole?

I made a very nice stacked pot fountain that I am super pleased with a while back and the birds like it too. But I have a sloooooow leak where I plugged the hole in the pot. I forget what I used but I know the product did say water proof. The pot is also terracotta inside, outside is glazed.

Any tried and true products to share? I keep putting off redoing it.....and just keep refilling the water.

On hand I have JB water weld epoxy stick, and Loctite 100% silicone sealer (aquarium safe)

Had to take my feeders down

I know someone here will feel my sadness. I noticed 2-3 house finches at my feeders that just didn't look right. Turns out its Avian Trichomonosis (aka Fat Finch Disease). They looked really rough. Poofy, snotty noses/beaks, and throwing up food. I feel soooooo bad! One that they got sick at my feeders, and two that I have to have my feeders down for at least two weeks. The next day all the birds were frantically looking for seed.
