I had a dream last night where my brother claimed he was about to finish Outer Wilds. I asked if he'd visited the >!Interloper!< yet, and I got flustered when he said no lol. ("But don't you wanna know why the... Wait I can't tell you that until you get there! Don't finish the game!")
Then the dream switched to ME visiting the >!Interloper and sliding down it's various tunnels.!< It was a reality beyond photorealistic, I could feel the >!cold and ice. There was additionally a clearing had melted with floating ice chunks that I had to jump between.!< I think even in the dream, while I felt that it would make for a really exciting sequence in a movie, I also recognized that this game would not be good to adapt. Thus, dreaming it into realism was a super fun isolated experience.
I went to Irwendale RenFaire yesterday! It was Halloween-themed weekend, and when I realized that the center of my Venn Diagram for a nerdy-deepcut+Renaissance-coded+spooky-themed character would be a dead Owlk, I had to build it. Three people said they recognized me!
This was very fun to work on, I learned a lot! The Artifact model by FaboElChapo was printed and painted by me. The necklace and bracelet based on concept art reference found on Ian Jacobson's website were designed, printed, and painted by me. I specifically wanted to lean into the dead-owlk look, so opted for more washed-out/beige colors for clothing
Really tried to only use stuff I already had, and borrowed makeup and paints. I spent <$20 on shorts and shoes that I intend to wear on the reg. The 3d printed antlers were borrowed from a friend. Thank you to people in this sub who suggested attaching the mummy wraps to old socks - I did so and also learned a lot about my lack of sewing skills. I also had fun painting my nails using tape to mask off pointy talons.
