I finished the calc series at my uni and I still have not seen these. What are they? That weird looking T at the end.

First time 3d printing, do I need to design supports?

So I am going to be printing this at my local library in 2 days. I have the .stl file ready to go, but I am afraid things are going to fail. Do I need supports included in the design for his to come out properly?

How can I get the most out of my Electrical Engineering Program?

Hello everyone,

I am a 28 year old postbac student who will begin his junior year officially a part of an electrical engineering program in the fall.

I want to hear from previous students, teachers, TAs, whomever, what I can do to get the most out of these two years.

My goal is to go through these next two years with ease, with minimal late nights, minimal stress/anxiety, minimal long study sessions (no more than 2.5 hours at a time twice a day), and most importantly, truly learning the fundamentals and concepts of my discipline.

My goal is to enter grad school right after my Bachelor’s.

I’d love any advice from anyone on what things I should do, prioritize, focus on, etc, in order to make these next two years enjoyable, and fruitful.

Thank you so much!

How to get the most out of UW Bothell’s Electrical Engineering program

Hello everyone,

I am a 28 year old postbac student attending UW Bothell this fall and I will be an Electrical Engineering student.

I want to ask students, teachers, or anyone with experience, how I can get the most out my next 2 years at UW Bothell.

If everything goes to way I’d like, I’d like to go to grad school after my Bachelor’s. I really want to master this discipline and learn a bit of everything else along the way. I’m considering a minor in physics along.

I’d also like to go through these next two years with as little burnout as possible. Minimal late late nights, minimal long study hours (2.5 hours plus twice a day), minimal stress and anxiety.

Finally, I’d like to work somewhere on campus. How difficult is it to get a job on campus? Are there tutor jobs? At my local community college I was a math tutor and it was a great fit in my daily life.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Got into EE for this fall after really wanting to go to UW Seattle as postbac

Hello everyone,

I graduated from UW Seattle in 2020 in political science and 2 years I went back to school to study physics with the hopes of transferring back to UW seattle for my second degree.

UW Seattle ECE program denied me today, but Bothell EE accepted me, and I’m a little disappointed.

I’m grateful to continue my education and to continue learning I’m my home state, but the openness and attention to physics of UW Seattles ECE program really intrigued me and it seemed really cool.

My dedication and desire to simply learn is very high right now and I think no matter where I’ll be, I think my motivation will spark a nice connection with my teachers and classmates.

I’m just hoping Professors and other students at UW Bothell will have the same curiosity to learn and the same patience to work with someone like me who is not a traditional STEM student.

Just watched my last Professor Leonard video and I feel like crying

Just watched his final Calculus video. The lecture on stokes theorem and divergence theorem. I also finished his differential equations series earlier this fall. Honestly a little emotional. This man is nothing short of perfect in terms of being a teacher. I wish I could take another class with him. I feel like I’m going to just have his lectures in the background or something through my whole life.

Does anyone know when postbac students hear wether the got in or not?

I know there probably isn’t a lot of postbac students in this sub, and how postbacs are usually bottom of the priority for admissions, but I thought someone might have a little insight.

I know I’ve made this post multiple times, but I just want to see if anyone has also not received admission notice. Anyone also not received anything yet?

Today was supposedly the day we would know wether or not transfer students got in, and I still have not received any updates. Is anyone else in the same boat as me?

Man, I can’t event tell you. Super nervous for tomorrow. Was expecting to be denied on may 1st, and to have it dragged out to may 4th truly ruined the weekend. Best of luck to all the future engineers out there!💪🏼👍🏻
