9 months after stopping the pill, started having acne and hyperpigmentation
24f here. i was on sprintec since i was 19. i stayed on the pill for about 5 years and largely did not have a negative experience. my acne and weight were normal and fine. i was very moody and emotionally turbulent, but i attributed that to my mental health and not the pill. the only side effect i really had was nausea.
i decided to come off of it because i thought i should just let my body go back to normal after being on it for so many years. i was also sick of the nausea as it had gotten worse.
i was scared to come off of it because i had no idea what my new "normal" would be like. but for the first 7 months being off of it, i felt GREAT. i dont know how to explain it but everything just felt more real. i felt lighter. less bloated. i felt like i had more energy. my periods came normally and regularly. no complaints.
until the past 2 months or so. ive suddenly developed cystic acne for the first time in my life. and acne scarring LIKE CRAZY. the smallest pimples are leaving marks that just won't go away. i had absolutely no scarring while i was on the pill and i miss my clear skin. i'm trying everything i can but the hyperpigmentation will not go away, and im only developing more. i know people usually experience effects a couple months after stopping the pill, but 7-9 months later doesn't sound common. my lifestyle hasn't changed and i don't think there are any other factors contributing to it. im losing hope
my skin is the main issue, but ive also just been so much more emotionally turbulent lately to the point where i feel like im going insane. i just dont understand why it's happening now.
has anyone else experienced this?
