Hadrian’s Wall wasn’t as daunting as I thought

I’m somewhat confident I didn’t make any rule mistakes (I was especially careful I didn’t accidentally fill out the upper left slots while my granaries weren’t built yet), but I also didn’t expect to win at 73 pts either.

The giant sheets of actions used to scare me a lot whenever I would see pictures of this game, but the rulebook explained each options carefully and it felt pretty straightforward. It was really fun (and funny) puzzling out how I can convert a piece of brick into a person.

I think what really helped me not get analysis paralysis was making myself go for the first strategy that came to mind instead of shooting for that first perfect game. I told myself it’s okay to make dumb moves for the sake of learning the rules because I can always optimize them later.

I look forward to more games, and I’m excited to try out the solo campaign eventually!

What’s the most random thing you received from a board game?

Just bought a character expansion for Too Many Bones and it came with an actual recipe book.

What DT fight mechanics are you gonna miss as everyone gets better gear?

I find it depressing that M4N’s soft enrage where she shoots the party non-stop is now negligible; you either skip it completely, or she blasts you once for scratch damage.

Also for M2N she practically dies before she can say “WHO’S MY OBEDIENT LITTLE BEE?” which is so iconic.
