Does left hand of darkness by ursula le guinn get better/easier to follow?

I'm on page 80~ of the book. I like the prose but my god are the names and terms disorienting. Had a 2 week break from reading due to life, and I forgot all the terms, and have little interest in rereading stuff. It's nice ig that she doesn't spoon feed info but also when I'm reading fiction I want to relax somewhat.

All these names with little explanation like brr brr patapim from ir buk buk doing kerer merek are starting to piss me off 😭, and I'm just wondering if they'll click soon or nah.

(Couldn't find proper flair)

Why do people hate so much on TS3 sims when TS4 are hardly better?

Like I get it, TS3 are pudgy but honestly I've been able to create pretty cute sims without any cc, it's just hairs and clothes that are diabolical. But in no way are sims in TS3 that much worse than in TS4😭 Like hello they're ugly as hell too, even worse sometimes 💀🙏

Does anyone else feel certain sense of resentment/anxiety regarding summer period?

I don't usually shave because I can't be bothered to. I don't care if somebody else does but to me it's a too time-consuming thing to uphold.

I love summer and summer fits, but it makes me sometimes so sad that it is expected of us women to not have hair. Wearing skirts or tops becomes too bothersome because part of the fit is being hairless. And it's not a thing like makeup where it may be in a way societally expected of us but ultimately nobody pays attention if you aren't wearing it as with body hair people definitely do pay attention to that and may even note to somebody else like 'hey look ' cause it's soooo crazy for adult human being to have bodyhair.

Idk I guess I'm just venting but I was curious if I'm alone with this resentment and underutilization of summer clothes because of judgements. And no, sadly I cannot just not care and wear them unshaven anyway.

Personally system

I don't have inzoi yet, but I'm looking forward to buying it as the updates on gameplay direction have gotten me really excited, so I apologize if I'm wrong on some features.

Odd's based system for big milestones:

I think it would be interesting if there were some big events chosen like marriage and death of a loved one that had stronger impact on the zoi. So instead of having say -50 moodlet on zoi for 2 days when loved one dies, the moodlet would then continue for 5 additonal days slowly diminishing from -50 to 0. Then there could be for example 3 directions after the grieving period: 30% things continue normally, 30% melancholy/depression state which would alter zois behavior accordingly, like having trouble eating, insomnia etc., there could also be gameplay with helping the zoi come out of the depression; 30% risk taking behavior to cope, for example going out to bars more, driving recklessly and other 'appropriate' risk seeking behavior. Then the personality of the zoi and past experiences could shape the odds; optimistic/kind zois for example could have higher positive odds on dealing with grief, like 50% chance instead of 30% that things continue normally, and so on.

This is just one example of course.

Memory:

The game could keep track of more impactful events, if loyal zoi has been cheated on many times they could become more and more apprehensive to enter in a new relationship, and if they have been cheated mlre times they could get anxious moodlet much more easily when thwir partner is not with them. Things like having a car accident would make them more nervous to drive, being in jail making them more nervous around cops etc.. so basically a memory of bigger events and them affecting the emotions of the zoi.

I'm assuming zois have some type of mean/evil personality and for that it would be cool if game tracked in some way ratio of good and bad deeds. So if 'evil' zoi does 3 times more good deeds than bad deeds with long period of time they could lose the personality trait as it's not accurate anymore. Same with cheaters, if they've been loyal for a very long time they could potentially lose the unfaithful tendencies while loyal zois could potentially lose the loyal trait if they've been cheating more. Like there could be 5% chance for a loyal zoi to cheat despite the trait with new zoi to keep things less predictable and set in stone.

I'm assuming that they might even add murder at some point with the legal system, so there too could be many opportunities. Like personality of zoi affecting how likely they are to feel regret after killing someone and try to rectify their actions, or on the contrary getting excited over that stuff and doing more illicit activities...

Tonality to actions:

This suggestion is very complex I know but just something to think about. Having a tone for action. For example when mean zoi is doing some ostensibly kind thing there could be a tone set like 'genuine' or 'manipulative'. So if there was this ratio of bad to good things done, then doing ostensibly good thing with manipulative intent would count as 'bad'. For example cheaters could use the manipulative tone to falsely reassure their partner that they aren't cheating, or some zois could leverage it to get promotions in job etc..

I know this is very complex but I think could be done in some simplified form if designed thoughtfully.

To summarize:

I'd just love love dynamic personalities where behavior can change personality like in real life when enough time passes, more consequences for big events like death, childbirth, trauma etc. And the personality affecting outcomes of big events instead of every zoi being for example similarly happy after wedding. That would make each zoi and story unique.

Style preferences

What do y'all think of game folk having clothing preferences?

When I romance someone in sims 3 in a cute fit I often think damn wouldn't it be cool if the other sims reacted to my fit or had some perception of it. I think it would be interesting if in newer simulator games like paralives and inzoi down the line clothes would be sorted based on style/vibe which the players could then tweak if they so want. Say a flannel shirt would be originally categorized as hipster/streetwear but if the player disagrees they can switch to what they personally feel reflects it better.

Then each character could have a few style preferences for example goth/ old money (idk correct term) etc. and if the character they interact with has the style they like they could compliment them on outfits. However, for romantic relations the other character having a style they like would boost romantic interactions, heightening positive chance for romantic interactions bc they are more drawn to them. Like flirting having higher chance of success. Also if character is dressed very inappropriately say sleepwear outside that could skew some interactions towards more negative for some characters.

I think system like this where clothing has more meaning would make the experience more immersive and consequential in a way. Of course if something like this were to be implemented it could be also turned off for those who think it's restrictive. Anyway i was just wondering if others have had similar thoughts regarding outfits, and would be interested to hear y'alls thoughts!
