Hello all! I am getting fitted for a custom night guard by a dentist I just started seeing. I’ve been noticing lately that my bite feels… off? Different? I have a cross bite but when I bite down, now it feels like the only 2 connecting teeth are my canines on my left side… this also started about a month ago after changing how I chew my food. I was told I have some issues on my right side, which is where I primarily chew. I didn’t realize I favored my right side so heavy lol.
Anyway, I think it’s my night guard that’s making my bite weird but I’m scared to not wear it because I grind at night. Should I remove it and wait for the custom one? Also, is 3 days of not wearing it enough time for my teeth to shift back? When she makes the new one I don’t want it to be jacked up like it feels now. Sorry if this makes no sense but I’m not sure how to explain it. When I was there last week for a consult she kept telling me to “bite normal” but I was!!! lol I was like I promise you this is my normal bite.
I’m concerned about breaking my canines from force not being distributed :( I took it out last night and slept without it and my teeth feel sore today, idk if sore is the right word but they feel like they’re more mobile lol. Am I being a spazz for nothing?
Cookies and chips, I can’t have them in the house. I will eat them all, no exceptions, within 24 hours. My therapist is trying to have me do small exposures and work myself up but I can’t fucking control myself. I just got my labs back and I’m prediabetic and have really high cholesterol and I eat really mf healthy BESIDES THE BINGING but I feel like it’s taking over my life. I want to be healthy but I feel like I literally cannot do this. As soon as it’s there I have to eat it. I don’t even know why I’m making this post I’m just so fucking exhausted. It’s like I’m not even controlling my body.
