If you could only buy 3 things from Trader Joe’s your next visit, what would they be?

I’m needing some inspiration. I haven’t felt very excited about food or groceries for a while, so I thought maybe your favs could motivate me to go get something fun/yummy/different. I have tried some of their gluten free things, but I always feel like I pick out the same stuff and I get intimidated with so many ppl sometimes to stand there and read everything.

It’s not that I’ll only buy 3 things necessarily, but if they are your top 3, then I’ll seek them out!

Does this disease make us more susceptible to heat injuries?

I seem way more sensitive to being outdoors in heat than anyone I know. Currently dealing with a touch of heat exhaustion from yesterday where I threw up, got a headache etc. Everyone else was fine. Just curious if it’s related to our temperature regulating?

What determines how much Levothyroxine you need?

Is it your weight? Age/weight combo? Or is it a result of how damaged your thyroid is? Or something else?

I ask bc I see posts and I have some friends on it that have such a wildly different Rx. In the case of my friends we are relatively the same size and we are the same age. One of them takes only 12 mg a few times a week? But I take 125mg daily. We both have hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism. Another with a nearly identical physique as myself takes 75mg daily.

My impression based on what I read seems like it’s based on weight, but real life experiences don’t seem to align with that, so I’m curious.

Need to report some good news!!

My TSH has been going up along with my dose of levo for a year and a half and out of range that entire time. But finally I tested in range (a little less than 1 tsh about 6 weeks ago at this new dose of 125mg). Simultaneously I had some other lab work done in March and May that showed my cholesterol creeping higher as well. (It has been for a few years and seems unrelated to lifestyle). So I just retested that.

Today I got those new cholesterol labs back and now that my thyroid has been in range for a couple months my cholesterol has improved in every area! Total decreased 55 points!!!! I’m back under 200 for the first time in years!

I haven’t had a lot of positive medical news in a long time. And I know a lot of us on the sub struggle. So I wanted to just post this as a point of hope, and to let you know that there is a chance things can improve.

I told my family, and I know they’re happy, but I’m not sure they can really appreciate how good this feels. So I had to tell some people who will get it fully!

I’m kicking myself because I found this cute set of nooks as miniso, but the one I wanted was out of stock. It was astrology themed and I didn’t take a photo of the box to track it down.

Now that I’m googling for it, the same two on that theme keep coming up and neither are it. Do you know of any astrology themed nooks? I’ll take any and all suggestions bc that aesthetic in general is so moody and cool to me!

Do you see gluten in your dreams??

I went gluten free about a year and a half ago, very strictly at the suggestion of my dr. to help with an autoimmune condition. Prior to that, no one loved a crusty French loaf dipped in seasoned olive oil more than me, lol ;)

The thing is, it’s become progressively easier for me to accept this. I still get cravings, and I’ve found a lot of good substitutions. But I ate glutinous things long enough into my life that the flavors and textures are still in my memory.

So much so, that I go through periods where I have actual vivid dreams about eating donuts, or soft hamburger buns, like swimming in pretzels. It’s kinda crazy, and I’ve woken myself up thinking, ‘NO! You can’t have that!’ And the dreams are so real I can taste everything.

Am I the only freak that does this? Hahaha, please tell me no ;)

I feel like I got hit by a bus, then I remembered I have hashimoto’s.

My TSH was continuously rising the last year (along with symptoms) inspite of increasing doses of levo. I’m now at 125mg, and about 6 weeks ago finally tested in the low range of normal! Problem solved right?!

Well, the last week or so I’ve been feeling like a zombie, not much energy, anxiety rising, wake up from sleep feeling like I got hit by a bus you know. I’ve been thinking to myself, I just need to change what I’m doing, diet, etc etc. And I just remembered, oh hashi’s. Maybe I’m flaring. Just when I get in range, can we please have like a solid good 3 months??! Is that too much to ask?

That’s all, I just needed to say something out loud to ppl who get it.
