mini rant about 'positive climate news'

i saw an annoying post on another climate subreddit about positive climate news and it wasn't even all positive! it was just framed that way by the OP.

for example, we could hit 2.6 deg c "only" by 2100. How is that good? Once we hit 1.5c permanently, the effects are likely to be catastrophic.

I guess those who wanna bury their heads in the sand will, but everyone who does is doing it at the expense of those who aren't.

with fema downsizing where would you look for opportunities to do on the ground work?

basically the title. I was interested in being a fema reservist if roles for less experienced folks with just degrees and some experience opened up maybe in the dsa cadre. but i see that fema is firing more than it hires so it doesn't seem worth it to do fema corps or assume a higher level role will be available with them when i'm ready.

where else would you look for similar early career/ on ground work?

climate/research/field work areas in this field?

looking for career options and wondering if anyone knows of job titles or has experience in this area of the field?

I like to do more field work and am more climate oriented even if it's mitigation and not direct response. Just seeing if there's anything like that. thx
