Parking near Harrington Park Bus Station?

Hi everyone! I’m just wondering if anyone knows where one can park for free near the Harrington Park police station/bus station? I commute to the city once a week and sometimes on weekends and it would be much easier to have a place to park my car while I’m there. Thanks!

How to Maximize Duaa and the day of Arafat

Salam everyone.

I hope you are all doing well. I just wanted to ask a quick question about making Duaa and Arafat at this time of the year. Forgive me if I sound naive and uneducated but I just need a bit of guidance.

I saw a couple videos saying that May 18-27 of this year is the best time to make Duaa and I understand it is because of Dhul Hijjah. I just wanted to ask what is the best way for me to make my Duaa and what practices should I incorporate into my life to make these days really count.

Inshallah I do want to try and fast on the day of Arafat which I believe is this Tuesday but it is very hot where I live and I work for long hours. Inshallah I may still fast, but if I do not can I still make Duaa and get sawaab for similar rewards?

I apologize again if my questions are a bit surface level. I would just like to know because I am planning on taking my medical college admissions exam soon and am praying that it goes incredibly inshallah and as well that my applications to medical school work out as I’m just having a lot of difficulty managing my time with work and school. Any answers are appreciated. Please keep me in your Duaas so I can achieve success inshallah, and if you are reading this please also make Duaa for my Grandmother and family.

Thank you so much everyone. Jazakallah khairun.

Looking for a book with a very specific vibe

Hi everyone! I recently read White Nights by Dostoevsky and I was blown away by it. I don’t know why but it just had the most beautiful atmosphere. I don’t know how to explain this but reading it gave me this like wintry, quiet, romantic, poetic vibe that I can’t quite describe. I would love to read works similar but I don’t know how to find them online via a Google search because the feeling is too specific.

While maybe these are thematically different, these books gave me a similar feel which I’m trying to chase:

  1. Persuasion by Jane Austen: I adore the longing in this book and I think it is Austen at her best. She is witty as always and Anne Elliot is one of my favourite heroines just because of how realistic she seems.

  2. Jane Eyre - Brontë: Again, I know it’s weird to put this on a list with what I’m describing but I don’t know. I love the romance here. Jane is smart and capable and her banter with Rochester is everything. I feel like I’m not necessarily wanting the Gothic elements but I love the relationship.

  3. Before Sunrise: Yes this is a movie but just the whole scene being set in this trilogy is what I want. Just like any location where it feels like the characters are stuck in time. I want quiet, intelligent conversation and sweet, coy flirtation. IDK!!!

There’s loads more but I could talk about it for hours. In terms of actual writing style I’m thinking I love Salinger or even Sally Rooney — so it doesn’t have to be a full on classic, but at the same time I don’t like contemporaries that don’t allow me to escape (riddled with too much current, 2026 esque language).

Is there anything anyone could recommend that would scratch my itch LOL??? If you made it this far, thank you for reading my word vomit.
