Long story short, I obtained this old VOB file around a year ago and was suggested Handbrake and VLC as a way to convert it so it could be compiled into one whole video (it's 4 parts). The video is of poor quality and is maybe a few generations VHS, so sound quality is expected to be terrible, yet VLC plays it back perfectly. I wanted to convert it to MP4 there however when converting it it will only convert 15 seconds to 2 minutes of video for some reason. More attempts at trying to convert the file on VLC ended up generating the first few seconds in Desktop mode conversion style (even though I DID NOT set it to this) or webcam footage of me somehow? So I was suggested to go to Handbrake. Handbrake gets the video perfect and I'm settling on the preservation FFV1 as the best video quality I could get out of it, however the audio has always been fucked up on every setting. Tried matching the sample rates... nope. Framerates don't match so set it to the original... nope. Maybe change it to a different type of audio file? Nope. Every preset so far has had this problem.

Ok, so maybe I can drop it into Lightworks and I'll just have to deal with the encoding there right? Sample rate problem's gone... video looks fine, but every ~10 seconds there will be a loud POP in the right ear, so wait I guess the sample rate problem is not gone... Render audio separately so that I could combine it later? Nope, same problem as rendering the video with VLC. I'm at my wit's end here. I just want to get this video done so I can archive it. What else can I do? Or what's wrong with my Handbrake conversion?
