i don't have anything to do tonight (my wife has a date with her boyfriend so she won't be home and my band said they're too busy to practice tonight but they assured me they're definitely not playing a gig???) so i was thinking we should all take our bass's and go to gerry lees house in canada for a cookout. i think he would be stoked if a bunch of us showed up! maybe we should play some rushes tunes around the campfire (gerry can sing and provide hot-dogs) to thank him for being such an awesome basssist and great host and epic inspiration for the bassjerkoff community. but i get to play lead bass on tom's sawyer since this was all my idea.

Long story short: Had to put a new derailleur on a bike and I wanted to get my wheels trued so I ordered some parts online and a few days later took everything to the LBS. They called a couple hours after I dropped everything off to say they couldn't get the derailleur to play nice with the lowest gear on my bike. They took it off, inspected it and found nothing wrong, tossed a Sword from their own inventory onto the bike and were having the same problems, then tried an Advent X and it worked. I picked up my bike and the Sword that night, and the next day when I went to put my bags back on the bike I realized that they put the new HG-X chain on backwards.... It's directional, so yeah, of course the derailleur was a bit clanky jumping up to a 48t cog!

I bought it for $75 (plus a buck or two tax) and don't feel like paying to send it back so I figured I'll keep it around unless someone else can use it. I'd do $70 shipped in the US.

1x10 (website says it works with 9-speed chains too, just make sure they're going the right way), medium cage, 48t max, has a clutch, can be converted to 2x with a new cage

I broke my nut while trying to replace my strings.. This never happened to me before with guitar. I was trying to get the low B under the string tree, and the nut just shattered.

Is there some kind of trick with basses I don't know about??
