Career change to Sleep Tech in Wichita, KS – when should I start applying?

Hi everyone!
I’m in my early 30s and decided to make a career change into sleep technology. I come from a fast-paced management background, but I’ve wanted to work in healthcare for a long time. I’m currently taking the A-STEP program and I’m almost halfway through the modules. I’m also planning to get my BLS certification soon so I’ll be ready when I start applying. I’ve been searching on LinkedIn and Indeed for sleep tech positions around Wichita, Kansas, but I haven’t found many openings. Are sleep tech jobs usually posted under a different title? Should I be searching for something else, or is it better to contact sleep labs directly?
I’d love to get into a hospital or sleep lab as soon as possible so I can start training, gain experience, and continue learning.

Any advice for someone making this career transition would be greatly appreciated. Please be kind! I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to start this new chapter. Thank you!
