Extending my Paris trip in December. Where should I go?

Hello!

I live in the United States, and have never travelled outside of the country. My fiancée and I will be joining her parents and brother in Paris for a week over Christmas. We will be in Paris from 12/19-12/27, and my fiancée and I have decided to extend our trip by an additional 5 days for a romantic getaway after our family time in Paris.

We were originally planning to extend until 1/2 or 1/3, but long story short, the money and cost just wasn't working in our favor. Instead we will be flying back home on 1/1.

Our plan is to travel to Seville, Spain from 12/27-12/31, fly back to Paris for New Years Eve, and travel back home on 1/1. We could potentially leave Paris 12/26 too.

Does this sound like a good first trip to Europe? Are there any suggestions on itinerary, hotels, attractions, destinations? Would Seville be a romantic place for my fiancée and I or should we be looking elsewhere? We are open to any and all suggestions and critiques!

I would love and appreciate any insight and suggestions from anyone! Thanks for your time and help!

Replacing my dad’s Muskie rod

My dad was a Muskie fisherman for over 30 years. He always carried really nice gear that he worked hard to get.

He has:

-3 Shimano Calcutta 400TE reels

-St Croix Premier 6’9” Heavy, Fast Action rod
-St Croix Premier 6’6” Medium Heavy, Fast Action rod
-St Croix Legend Elite 7’10” Heavy, Extra Fast Action rod

Long story short, years ago when I was a teenager and poor, I broke the shit out of his absolute favorite rod (the 7’10” Legend Elite).. I recklessly broke the rod tip from closing a car door on it.

He has since stopped fishing, and I have inherited all of his gear.

I’m not young and poor anymore, and I have the means to replace his rod which I would appreciate doing for when he decides ti jump in the boat with me.

However, the rod doesn’t exist anymore so I’m looking for a good comparable rod or small upgrade. I’m also looking to round out the collection.

My thoughts are to shoot for an 8’6” Extra Heavy, Fast action rod in the higher end St Croix lineup. However, I’d love some suggestions tho.

TL:DR

I broke my dad’s nice rod years ago and need help replacing it now.
