Final big update for RiiDraw! Layers, 3D preview, new adapter, & more!

Recently launched what's likely the final big update for RiiDraw (a tool to transfer images to Tomodachi Life). Added a lot of features that I really wanted like layers and 3D previews on all the unique items in the game. And Splatoon 3 support as a bonus.

The app is free, and you can easily make your own adapter (or buy one of the remaining ones I have).

What do I do here? Is it ruined?

I left a print running overnight and came down to this in the morning. Printer never stopped and ran for 4 hours like this.

RiiDraw - I made a new free tool to transfer images to Tomodachi Life for unmodded systems

Been working the past several weeks on RiiDraw so I could easily transfer images to my island. It’s kinda similar in concept to TomodachiDrawer (it simulates a pro controller and presses buttons automatically) but the main difference is it streams to the Switch instead of copying all to the microcontroller. And the app itself is super tiny with no dependencies, and on Mac it is properly notarized with Apple so you can just open it.

I haven’t had issues with lag on larger images at all even on my Switch 1. It’s also just overall faster and easier to use. You can scale, crop, reposition all in the app. And it includes mattes for every item in the game, and skips over those pixels while drawing.

It does require two microcontrollers and some wires, but once it’s setup it’s really easy to use. I worked really hard on the interface. I hoped it would feel like something that could’ve been in the real game.

The app is totally free and works with any rp2040 based boards, even cheap clones on Aliexpress. I designed a custom PCB that replaces the need for wires, but that is completely optional.

Hope yall enjoy it! Getting to see the joy my partner felt when I added their childhood pet to their island was worth all the work.
