I went to Warhammer World today with my son and was excited to see the Deathwatch minis that appear in the various codices and on the box art for various sets and was greeted by quite a few gaps in the collections.

It would seem that the Boys in Black are perhaps currently away being photographed or filmed for either Warhammer TV, White Dwarf or "something else".

As far as I could tell, there was a Corvus Blackstar missing, the DW Lieutenant and likely all 20 Primaris Intercessors from the Armageddon Battalion box, the entire DW Kill Team and a bunch of minis from Imperial Agents... assuming that those are usually on show.

I did get some nice reference pictures for my builds though as I tend to just build as they appear on boxes or other official images.

Oh, and the Warhammer World was sadly depleted of anything to do with Deathwatch apart from three Corvus Blackstars and 1 (ONE!) Deathwatch Upgrade Sprue! No DW Kill Team boxes and I couldn't see any Watch Masters or Artemis minis about, though I could have missed them.

Anyway, I'm not really trying to start any rumours of doom or to give false hope, but I thought I'd share my "findings" from my visit!

I like the idea of having an "unusual" Black Shield in the Deathwatch, and Alric certainly ticks that box for me.

I'll end up making versions of the entire Dark Cabal over time, but fancied making up Alric first!

I'm always a bit worried to try kitbashing, but I quite like this one even though he's more obviously what he is purported to be.

You'll have to excuse my fat-fingered use of glue and a couple of things that aren't 100% accurate (like most of it!), but here's my effort to make an approximation of Brother Nullus of the Deathwatch to go alongside my Primaris Lieutenant Titus of the Ultramarines.

I'm sure there are better ones out there, but I'm more than happy with him (as long as I never have to add chain to an arm ever again!)

If you are interested, the chain is for models of battleships to use as anchor chain. It's just over half a millimetre wide!

Can anyone tell me what chapters these Aggressors are repping?

On first look I figured it was some Space Wolf chapter, Salamanders and Raven Guard, but the colours make me suspect they are second or third founding.

So, I set about buildings the minis from the Kill Team Mordelai set just as they are presented in the set, and found out that it’s impossible to build them as they are shown.

Two of them use the same chest piece (skull and crossbones), two of them use the same shotgun (two wings decoration) and finally there aren’t enough chest pouches with two grenades to go around.

I’m not actually bothered as I’ve just scavenged from one of my other sets, but it may mean that I need to source some extras when I’ve built the regular veterans and alternatives.

You can see the extras in the pic as they are from a lighter coloured sprue.

First world problems! 😁

It's purely a catalogue of Deathwatch units and boxes at the moment, but when I drill down into the contents of each box it should end up being useful if you want to collect them.

I have a question about the ORIGINAL DW Poster Boys from the 2003 Citadel Catalogue.

Yes... I want to recreate these 5 chaps just for shiggles.

Can anyone work out what the two chapter symbols are on the circled marines?

I’m now pondering if one of them might be Ravenwing?

Now to find embossed metal pads for the rest!
