Has anyone driven the Mereenie Loop between Kings Canyon (NT) and Alice Springs this week? They had a fair bit of rain on the weekend and we need to decide if we use the loop or go back to the highway as we are driving a RAV4 not our usual 4WD.

I realise this isn't close to Darwin but wasn't sure if there was a central Aus subreddit.

Has anyone driven the Mereenie Loop between Kings Canyon and Alice Springs since the weekend rain? I'm just wondering about the current road conditions and if a RAV4 could handle it. The staff in Yulara felt that if it hadn't been washed out it would be fine.
