Looking for Advice
Hey all, our Traeger nearly burned our house down due to an auger fire so we have moved away from that brand.
Question for you all, I have a Weber kettle and love my charcoal grill, but I’m looking to get back to smoking and also only need 1 grill.
For those who have experience smoking, is the smoke flavor you can get on the BGE sufficient? Is the fire easier to manage than an offset? The BGE looks pretty easy to keep at temp once you get it dialed in.
For start up time for grilling, is it about 20 minutes from lighting to cooking?
Why does it require lump charcoal over briquettes? And can I just use soaked wood chunks when smoking?
Thanks all, looking at an XL in the modular set up with a side shelf. Trying to future proof it but I hate that my Weber has no shelf space to set things down while cooking.
