Hi, I've had this problem for a long time and decided to finally reach out and see if something can be done about it as it is quite jarring.

When the Zen Blue first plays audio after a small period of not recieving any, it stutters, as if coming out of a 'low power sleep mode' and not catching up correctly. When there is audio continuously playing (or very shortly after each other) there is no problem.

This can be seen either when playing a track or the tone it makes when connecting via bluetooth. Given that the issue happens when dis/connecting from bluetooth and not just when playing music suggests to me it is not a phone issue but a Zen issue. I am using the latest firmware.

I thought a video showing the tone would be the most obvious way to explain seeing that it is a universal sound everyone will be familar with. Obviously the issue bothers me more when playing a track though.

In this video I connect to the Zen Blue 4 times. You can hear the issue in the first time I connect, and the last. The middle two times I do it quickly enough that the issue isn't present, so as to add a comparison. Hopefully you can tell.
