First proper board, 7 months into playing. Feedback welcome.

First board I’ve put together properly, Tried to get good quality modestly priced stuff whilst in figuring out what I like. Here’s the signal chain;

Boss TU-3 → DigiTech Drop → Big Muff Pi Nano → TC HyperGravity → Boss SD-1 → Boss DS-2 → EHX Small Clone → TC Choka → TC Flashback 2

Guitar is a Yamaha Pacifica 120H, amp is a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe.

Two things I’d like input on:

I’m playing blues, classic rock, grunge and surf rock. Would you reorder this chain for those genres, or leave it as is? I’m happy with order, just wonder if I’m missing anything obvious.

Switching on the Small Clone throws a loud click/bang through the amp every time. Known chorus quirk, power issue, or a routing problem on my end?

Cable management is still a work in progress behind the amp, so go easy there. Layout and order feedback all welcome.

7 months in and I’ve already got more pedals than skill. Roast me.

Playing about 7 months. Signal chain:

Boss TU-3 → DigiTech Drop → Big Muff Pi Nano → TC HyperGravity → Boss SD-1 → Boss DS-2 → EHX Small Clone → TC Choka → TC Flashback 2

Guitar is a Yamaha Pacifica 120H. Amp is a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. Really enjoying this set up, spending more time noodling than learning songs, but having lots of fun.

Two things I’d actually like input on:

I’m attempting to play blues, classic rock, grunge and surf rock. Would you reorder this chain for those genres, or leave it?

Switching on the Small Clone throws a loud click/bang through the amp every time, have I done or something wrong?

Roast away.

Signal chain help for a beginner

Long time lurker, first time posting. Been playing for about 7 months and built out a budget pedalboard over that time.

The goal was to cover as much ground as possible without needing to change anything for at least a year, so I tried to be deliberate about what I bought rather than just buying everything at once, picked up lots second hand to save on costs.

My current signal chain is:

  1. Yamaha Pacifica 120H
  2. DigiTech Drop
  3. EHX Big Muff Pi Nano
  4. TC Electronic HyperGravity Compressor
  5. Boss SD-1
  6. Boss DS-2
  7. EHX Small Clone
  8. TC Electronic Flashback 2
  9. TC Electronic Choka Tremolo
  10. Orange Crush 20RT

The music I'm learning covers blues, classic rock, grunge, and surf rock. Songs range from beginner to intermediate, things like Paranoid, About a Girl, Running Down a Dream, Don't Fear the Reaper, and a few Pink Floyd tracks.

A few things I am not sure about:

  1. Is the Big Muff before the compressor the right call? I have read a lot of conflicting opinions on fuzz and compressor ordering.

  2. Is there a better way to order the chain for the genres I am playing, without swapping any pedals out?

  3. Anything I should know about running this many pedals together, any common pitfalls or things to watch out for?

Thanks in advance, really appreciate any help. Will share a picture once I have all the cables managed.

Best roads in Wales for spirited driving?

I’m taking a road trip to Wales, tomorrow, I’ll have Saturday morning for a drive, looking for nice twisty roads with epic scenery well suited to a small sports car.

Anyone have any recommendations?
