Which city for a 6 week abroad trip with kids? June-July 2027

Looking to spend 5-6 weeks in Italy next summer with a 9 year old and 2 year old. What city would be best recommended? Would ideally like to send the 9 year old to some sort of english speaking camp during the day. We'd try to keep one place as 'home base' and then explore the rest of the country on weekends; so access to easy transportation. First time doing this.

Are companies like ADT and Guardian Really that bad in July 2026? Local Companies seem so much more expensive.

So I'm in the process of shopping around for a system. I just want to monitor for entry intrusions. I have a lot of windows on the lower level. I've been researching and almost every post says avoid ADT, use a local company they are better, etc. (albeit most of these posts are a little old). So I called around and found local companies, standalone ones off google, as well as those that are on alarm.com. But man...the monitoring cost is about the same (anywhere from $40-$49 a month), and the hardware costs are SO much more. Like $2100-$3000 for 3 door sensors, a lot of window sensors, couple of motion sensors, etc. Yes companies like ADT require a contract, but their pricing is more like $500 for all this. I'm really having a hard time justifying the additional $1500-$2500 more. ADT and Guardian said that any equipment would be covered under warranty too...so I ask again, are they really that bad nowadays? What am I not considering? Note: I want no smart systems integrated into this. Literally doors and windows and motion, and the abilty to arm and disarm from my phone.

Recommendations for Monitored Security (No Smart functions or cameras)

I've read all the posts and reviews about the various companies. They all seem bad ha. But it seems a lot of the complaints are around cameras, quality, alerts, etc. If I forget about that...what's the best monitored security company, that has good monthly rates? Basically just window/door sensors, motion sensors, and CO2/fire monitoring, and actively monitored when armed? I'll install my own doorbell and exterior cameras.

Address Qualification Limbo

Ive been a longtime Fios customer. Between last 2 houses probably going on nearly 20 years. I’m moving to a new construction house. The house is being rebuilt on an existing plot of land, but because the number is new, does not come up in the Verizon system. My neighbors to the left and right of me all have Fios and I can see the Fios terminal on the utility pole behind me. I’ve been calling customer service who opened a ticket for me 3+ weeks ago. Everytime I check they say and engineer needs to work on it. I’m about to move in a week and have no progress. Is there anything I can do or do I need to choose a competitor?

Anyone ever compare Paradigm Subs with SVS, PSA, or Rythmik?

Moving to a new house and would like a 12" sub for the family room. The space will be used 80% for music, 20% for TV/Movies, but have a dedicated Home Theater space elsewhere. Sub will be paired with an Integra AVR and a Origin Acoustics. A buddy of mine let me borrow a Paradigm Defiance S12...it sounds great. But I've never heard an SVS, PSA, or Rythmik equivalent. Has anyone had a chance to review the Paradigms against some of the others? There are so many options, each reads great on paper, each comes highly reviewed on reddit. Its so hard to pick. Budget...I don't want to go over $1700 USD. If anyone has other recommendations, I'd appreciate it. Bonus, the smaller footprint, the better (wife's sake).

Closed cabinet for shoes

As the title states, looking for a closed cabinet to put shoes in a garage. Like as many shoes as possible. Traditional cabinets only have 4 or 5 shelves and I don't think its enough. Any recommendations?
